vv221: When I see the base price for Contraption Maker, I am not going to wait for a discount: as soon as a native Linux build is provided I am going to add it to my collection ;)
I spent the weekend getting a linux build done. I still need to some testing to make sure everything is working correctly and then go through the upload and make live on GOG process. Turned out to not be too hard.

tag+: Hello mr. Kevin Ryan!
A fan here! Thanks for TIM & Contraption Maker!
Unfortunately the last time I checked, the TIM exes
from the Pack I bought here had a VirusTotal warning...
Would you mind to run a VirusTotal check for Contraption Maker
to make sure is fully clean?
Its the only reason stopping me to purchase CM

May I ask Why vgames discounted prices on itch.io
are non competitive to other e-stores
despite it has the open revenue sharing program
and apparently more freedom to the creators?
Not yet to mention the No regional pricing for Mexico
which kills any attempt to make purchases there...
I invite you to consider to discount it more frequently there
&/or better than the rest of the e-stores :)

Anyway, The best of luck for your current & future endeavours,
Excellent idea of mentoring your kids
on the art in extinction of developing top of the notch quality vgames,
and Thanks for reading this post! Has been an honor to me :)
I'm not involved with TIM at all anymore and haven't been for a long time. I think Disney owns the IP now - so there is no connection to the Contraption Maker code which we wrote from scratch. Not sure what is going on with itch.io. When I get a chance I'll take a look at CM on there.

Working with my kids has been great. One of them now works with my old Dynamix partner, Damon Slye.

Thanks for your reply
Indeed, I was aware of your deatachment of TIM & Disney's ownership,
the association was in case some shared building block among TIM and CM
may trigger the virus warning. Your reply makes clear no chance
Anyway, I'd appreciate a VirusTotal scan if you have opportunity

The reason:
This store invalidates their promoted "30 days refund no questions asked"
once the customer downloads the offline installer...

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for that, it’s very pleasing to see game developers taking such requests seriously.

This is definitely how others should go about gaining/retaining customers.

The very fact that he has taken community feedback into consideration is quite impressive. This is in stark contrast to so many developers.

Thank you for your work, much appreciated!

I loved playing The Incredible Machine. Yes, I've still got an original boxed copy somewhere.
So I naturally bought a copy of Contraption Maker as well!
All the best wishes to you and your family!

Thanks so much for this. I bought the game already, and knowing now that I will receive a build for my chosen platform is very much appreciated.

Wow... I'm glad I still generally refuse to pay more than $5 USD for anything non-physical then.

Excellent personal policy!
As I keep my budget low, I never thought of setting an explicit limit
I like it, adopted! If you allow me to copy :)

Oh good, it showed up! I wasn't sure how long it'd take the GOG team to make it live.

Just got from short hospital in San Francisco with my son. He had a liver transplant at 4 months and checks in with them for checks if his bloodwork numbers are off.

Sincerely, I wish the best to you and your son. Hopefully, the immunosuppressants are well-tolerated.

Thanks for the Linux build, I just bought a copy as promised ;)

The Linux build of Contraption Maker does not seem to work in recent Linux environments, cf. [Linux] Segmentation fault on Wayland.

In addition to the crash description, a fix is suggested in the linked thread.

Just saw this. I'll look into it, but don't have any timeframe since I'm not certain how difficult or quickly this will be to able fix on the game end - instead of the work-around I saw posted.

Also, just uploaded a new build.:1.4.11

Added a new Stable Candle part and fixed a couple of bugs.

I will keep testing this work-around with new game releases to make sure it keeps providing an option until a fix can be found on your side. If I see it breaking with some game update I will send you a notice.
