Wow, awesome freebie!

Question - do I dare play this before Stasis?
Stasis was a great game, so why is this one FREE?
Thanks to the devs & GOG for putting Cayne on here for free, but I'm far too chicken to actually play it! (I haven't even been able to nerve myself to play Stasis, which I got as a promo bonus on a recent sale.)

Yes

Hmm, almost like donateware... interesting concept.

I was expecting this to be more like the "free" Life Is Strange where they offered the first episode free, but the following episodes cost money. I guess it was "free" in a similar sense as the 1993 Doom was free (the first episode), while episodes 2-3 cost money.

But no, in this case apparently all the gaming content really is free, and the DLC they want you to pay for is the extras (soundtrack etc.). Quite nice approach, making me indeed want to buy the DLC just to support them.

And done. Got the free game, and bought the Deluxe Content.

Well, I'm not one for horror games at all, but for free? Might as well give it a shot.
Wow, nice move! Thanks guys!

IFW: Thank you guys - bought the extra content to show my support.
I'd ask everyone who can afford it do the same; it's rare to have developers with such a commitment towards their fans.

Don't forget about their new Kickstarter - would be a real shame to let this game go unfounded:

And you can back a the digital plus level or more to get a Cayne deluxe key (hopefully on GOG), as I did.

Same. Is this a prequel or sequel... ? Or are they only loosely related?
the brotherhood has entrusted me...

It happens after the events of STASIS but it's not directly connected.

STASIS is a great game btw. Check it out if you like puzzle/adventure/horror games, especially if you're a Sanitarium fan.

It's a side story within the same universe, which usually means some references to the first game. My guess is playing Stasis is not necessary, though it could enhance the experience.

An answer from Captain Picard himself, nice! :D

I own a copy of Stasis, but still need to play it. It is apparently great, going by all the positive reviews.
