Flow like chaos.

Caladrius Blaze, a masterclass in shoot-em-up, is now available, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount!

Formerly a console-exclusive, the quintessential corridor shoot-em-up comes to PC – where classic gameplay meets modern design, then clashes in a spectacle of flash, flesh, and destruction.

At it's core Caladrius Blaze is a SHMUP's SHMUP. But high production values and a few twists splash a fresh coat of paint and excitement on a familiar formula. Aside from standard attacks and upgrades, you'll need to master unique elemental weapons to both combo for the highest of high scores, and at times, to actually make it through the levels.

Caladrius Blaze isn't extremely long – but that's no bad thing, because there's not a dull moment in sight. It never has to pull its punches either – and whether you're new or a veteran, there's bound to be a difficulty level to match what you've got.
Approach with care, the game does tend to get NSFW at times.

Flow like chaos and flashy destruction in Caladrius Blaze, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 10% discount will last until January 19, 7:59 AM UTC.

J_Darnley: Do I buy this to support getting more Japanese games and fanservice games here? Or do I not buy it because I will dislike it? [s]At least it doesn't look like a bullet hell shooter.[/s] [EDIT] I take that back, it is bullet hell.

Also, this link was posted in the announcement thread for some actual gameplay footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5IZSn4aZ1E

Zoidberg: What's wrong with bullet hell type shooters?
I don't like them. I never see anything of the game more than about 2x the hitbox size because I am so focused on dodging them bullets.

gamesfreak64: the good thing is i can run this at recommended, i like card games, but those are more the classic cardgames like solitaire (ancient game),
avatar
cal74: You may need to take a better look as it's a shoot'em up we are talking about here and not a card game (although the mistake is understandable considering the trailer).

I'd recommend to have a look at gameplay videos on Youtube to get a better idea (and since you don't support flash and other visual effects, I can guess that it would probably not be an appropriate buy for you).
Thanks for the info, and you are right flashy effects and other visual mayhem for my eyes is not recommended.

gamesfreak64: older?

the recommended system req. dont look that old to me :D

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz or better
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Graphic card with 1GB VRAM or better
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 2 GB available space
Sound Card: Direct Sound

the good thing is i can run this at recommended, i like card games, but those are more the classic cardgames like solitaire (ancient game),

Zoidberg: That's getting old yeah, not that the required configuration matters much in judging a game as being "older". :P
I see, thanks for the update.
Btw i made a mistake i used the word don't which should have been doesn't of course.

ValamirCleaver: I looked at the trailer, so this is a card game? (Who ever is in charge of the game trailers might want to either ask the publisher for a trailer that is a better representation of the core game play lest a potential purchaser think it's a Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh type game.)
Well, it is the same type of game as your typical Touhou game, and Touhou does have spell cards, so...
I like Shmups as much as the next doddering twenty something retro gamer but (not to sound like a cheapskate) for $25 it better be better than Stargunner, Tyrian and R-Type combined and blessed by the lord himself with the ashes of a thousand children, otherwise your charging a crapton for boobies I could just look up online for free...

EDIT:
Seeing as how I usually play my timewasters at work does this game come with a disable boobies option?

How the hell do you decide that making a trailer for a SHMUP game, should make it appear that its a card game!? o0

Either way, that price? Hahahahahaha....
*chuckles off into sunset*
Is there an option to disable the in-game character artwork? And is this a competent port? I haven't really seen answers to either question yet. It's not a priority though as I couldn't get it now even if I agreed with the price.

Stargunner and Tyrian are mediocre at best, just about any mid-budget or higher shmup released in the past 15 years wipes the floor with them (Stargunner especially). It's not better than R-Type, but R-Type's one of the absolute highest points in the genre.

It does suffer a bit compared to Cave's games, Eschatos or Raiden IV, though, most of which are cheaper. Unfortunately, only the last of those is available here.

Should probably add that I was mainly worried this would be a bullet hell, I don't like those unless they're REALLY good thankfully it looks like it isn't. Thanks for reminding me about raiden. The only complaint for raiden is the cellphone screen sizes.
Hi I got both Steam and GOG versions of this game . But Steam version of the game has SDL2_image.dll but GOG version hasn't . Also GOG version of the game has postproc-53.dll but Steam version hasn't this .dll I don't know what's about it . Also Steam version has sdkencryptedappticket.dll but this one probably for leaderboards .

Twenty something retro gamer... this has made me smile, but now I feel _really_ old (being in the "fifty something retro" range)...

I like these games, but somewhat suck at them, when there are too many bullets to dodge. This one looks like I could manage, so I'll give it a try. The price could be lower, but then again I would probably buy chocolate with the spare money, so it's okay for me (and probably better for my hips).

Yes. You can turn the "Illustrations" off is you so desire (in several steps actually. Also the whole dislogue/story you can suppress, too if you wish.
I'm impressed by how well this has been selling.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call for the dropkicks in charge of curation that they officially fucked up by turning down Degica's shooters.

Ah... I see what I did there. Trying to say it doesn't look like a bullet hell. Still not buying it for $25 tho. Gotta save for that last Starcraft II Expansion
