Kid looked around. This place seems alright.

Bastion, a renowned tale of the Kid and Narrator, is available now for Windows and Mac OS X, with a 60% launch discount on GOG.com!

There are two reasons why Bastion became one of the most explosive indie debuts in gaming: the Kid, and the Narrator. An unforgettable duo. Every move the Kid makes, the Narrator follows - step by step, word for word, Bastion is primarily a storytelling experience unlike most that you'll ever see. All that isn't to say that there's nothing more to the experience - Bastion is a well rounded action-RPG, with a combat system that's just intuitive enough that you will never have to struggle, as well as a simple but satisfying RPG system for improving your abilities and home base.

The Kid pulled out a silver coin, didn't think much of it. Bastion is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 60% launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, February 19, at 1:59 PM GMT.
Insta-wishlisted... =) Now I have to change my post in the "games never coming to gog" thread xD

jcoa: Does this have Stranger's Dream content included?

Projectsonic: Considering the team's philosophy about this sort of thing and how previous DRM-Free versions have had it, I'm going to say yes.
Was a little concerned due to the posts about the game being an outdated version, but the update is on the exact release date of the DLC according to Gamefaqs, so I guess it is there.
You nearly got a sale from me, but why is the Linux version missing from your deal?
Well, I guess I’m stuck with my Humble Bundle version, and the proverbial inexistent support they (don’t) provide.

On a totally unrelated point, does this mean we could see someday Transistor coming?
This one looks so great, but being a Steam exclusive is a deal-breaker for me.

Best Indie game ever- just edging Limbo and Grimrock. It actually proves that a light action RPG can still have a great story that even springs a surprise or two and the different ending choices really are poles apart- the ending you choose probably says something about what sort of person you are.
And the soundtrack...not just nice background music like most games, Bastion has actual songs written and performed to fit it's story, that are actually part of the game- sometimes even performed in game.

For what someone posted somewhere in the 18 pages of the Warner coming to GOG thread, Transistor was published by Supergiant themselves, and they said they do not plan to "develop a not steam version at the moment". I think that's old news though, so don't know if they've changed their minds and are working on it now. Probably not, since the game is REALLY steam-integrated (just becase ._.). Will have to wait =) In the meantime, Bastion is awesome, played it already and if I had a credit card I would be buying it again, and again, and again xD
Does this mean that Transistor will also come to GOG as well?? :D

Awesome, it's a great game after all. However, even with the discount, that price tag is too big for a relatively old game that I already own. So to the wishlist it goes.

Good job getting this one!

deonast: You can always pick it up from bandcamp and get lossless FLAC

Gnostic: Bastion sound track is sold on steam too so why can't GOG do the same? It will save the hassle of game goodies all over the place.
True if steam has it, then as an option here it would be good, but Generally speaking GOG don't sell soundtracks separately, only do it when it is part of a deluxe edition update so is probably a decision that has to be made at the exec level in GOG. I'm less worried about buying on bandcamp (though I guess no sale discounts) since I'm already a customer there.
Already own it, so not for me, bu it is a great addition to the catalogue. One of the best games of the last decade. The graphics, voice acting and the music are phenomenal, and for once tha gameplay actually measures up to those other elements. A must-play.
So, probably Bastion dev decided to abandon Linux version right after its release on Humble, so they didnt bother to include it here...
This is great game and the music is worth their price, one of the best game music I've ever heard. I was lucky to get music in the bundle, totally worth it. I join the choir of those hoping Transistor is coming here as well as the Linux port.
Good game, nice to see it here.

But I never understood why the people enjoyed the narrator that much.
You have a Bard's Tale here on GOG as well. That's what I call a really good narrator. He was witty, sarcastic and used irony in such a nice way that each time the narration broke the fourth wall it was a delightful moment.
The one from Bastion wasn't terrible but it doesn't even scratch the surface in my humble opinion.
He just narrates stuff you do in a rather emotionless way.

Those of you wanting the soundtrack -

you can go to the Gramophone in-game & press 'E' to select the tracks.

Also steam music player crawls your game folders for music files.

;)
Stoked that I waited for it to arrive here. GOG is the natural home of games like Bastion!

Now, it just needs to work when installed through Galaxy... (yes it works, but from the standalone installer)
