To anyone who wants to go to the reviews section of this game and give it 1 star because it's late, PLEASE DO!

In this era of fake news and damage control, it is important to allow information to circulate, EVERY piece of information.

You want to express your dismay at questionable business practices? Please do, but keep it sensible and make it clear which part of your judgment is of the game itself, and which part is of the business practice.

Not all information is useful in every context, though. If you ordered a new washing machine and and it arrived two weeks later than promised, would you scribble a complaint about that on a post-it note and stick it to the machine?

The problem is this is rarely done. Most review posts about business practices and pricing dont differentiate. They just give the game a low rating based on no X release, price is too high, developers treat gog users as second class, or the game is too buggy dont buy... and more often than not never discuss valid points of the game it self.

Reviews such as the above, particularly ones about bugs are better suited to forum posts. Using reviews as bug reports and criticisms beyond those about the game it self never really help the game. So, it is hard to take a 1 star rating seriously when the review comes across as a childish rant about all the things they hate that the developers did or did not do.

Personally I dont see any questionable business practices in a late GOG release (and believe me I love it when games launch on GOG at the same time as Steam)......if that was the case most games that came to gog would be getting such treatment.

Also, the devs of this game made a good post discussing the reasons and they all sound reasonable to me.

Thanks for posting this. That definitely changed my stance on the game, even though its not in my favorite genre I will be buying it now.

And it doesn't matter, let players express their discontent. It's up to YOU anyway to read the reviews and decide for yourself what lies behind and if you care about the issue.

You shouldn't force the obfuscation of information to ME just because YOU don't care.

And look what they've just done on Steam: a negative review about the use of DRM will be considered off topic and won't be aggregated to the overall score...

If I had to chose between two extremes, I'd rather chose the "let everyone express everything". Like I said, it'll FORCE people to use their brain... for once.

I'd recommend people report the 1 star review since it offers 0 critique of the game itself, which goes against the review guidelines on GOG.

Last I checked it was around 40 dollars on Steam as well. It must be cheaper for a retail physical copy for you because the origin of the game is Poland?

It still boggles my mind that the creators of "for controversy's sake" Hatred and silly Beachhead clone IS Defense ended up making a perfectly acceptable game for their third title.

Exactly. Steam Store version costs 40$ in Poland as well. But the price of physical copy was around 30$ at the release time, so that dropped significantly since May.

Thi is a broken guideline. The only reason is that GOG are cowards and don't want to dip in it, so they're juste ready to obfuscate the information rather than accept criticism (as long as it's put with respect to all parties that is).

Your reaction is reason why there are so bad or missing information, gaming related or otherwise.

Good to read! It only paints them in a good way to explain sincerely what happened. If only they had done it sooner, but again, the complete product has found its way to GOG after all.
