From the games' description:

The "ACA NEOGEO" series has already faithfully reproduced many NEOGEO masterpieces.

In the game, different parameters can be set, for example, to adjust the difficulty level or to reproduce the atmosphere of the arcades at the time by means of corresponding display settings. Also, players can compare
their highscore with the highscores of players worldwide.
Have fun with the masterpieces, which have inspired a whole generation of video games.

They are noticeably more expensive, but In this case it's definitely a case of getting what you pay for.

SpellSword: This is great. Games by SNK are pretty much always a win and they all have Linux support, perfect! ^_^

(Side note: Some of them have their Linux version in the "Included goodies" extra section, so they won't appear if you're searching GOG's catalog with the Linux filter turned on. None the less, they are Linux compatible.)
Any comment from a Blue why not all Linux versions of these games are officially supported?

If they're anything like the Mac versions they are definitely inferior. I just tried a couple of the Windows ones and they've got much better front-ends, menu screens, online features, not having to wait around for the NeoGeo bootup that happens with every game on my Mac, actual configurable controls, working two-player.... yeah. I can see then why Mac/Linux is considered unsupported.

EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. Only some of the games got the improved treatment. Oh well. Guess I'll just stick with playing them on my Mac.

Best misspelling ever or best misspelling ever?
I knew there were some really crappy ports of the SNK games on GOG, but I managed to avoid all of them in the first batch, and got the ones that apparently have decent emulation and a ton of options (particularly video and control/remapping ones). All of the DotEmu SNK NEO GEO ports I got before are actually great ports, so I took a chance with this second batch, and decided I should get Garou: Mark of the Wolves (a no-brainer, actually, considering how poor GOG's selection of good fighters is), Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad and Sengoku 3. Out of these three games, two are luckily on par with my previous SNK GOG purchases, having meaty options and 1:1 emulation. Sadly, Sengoku 3 is one of those games I've seen people talk about before. Emulation seems to be decent, to be fair, but the options are laughable. Video options basically consist of Fullscreen or Windowed game, you can't rebind the key mappings, and the game even tells us a wrong set of keys to be used, implying ABCD are set to QWZX, when they're actually mapped to ZXCA...

It's not that big a deal, to me, to be honest, and I'm even glad the keys are not set to what the in-game info tells us, since the actual mapping works better for me, but I can totally see why others would rage and fume at something like this. It's particularly mind-boggling because they *do* have great ports of SNK arcade games, even if it's "just" emulation. I can't really wrap my head around why they included so many options in some of these games, while others are as bare-bones as they get, and go as far as to include an in-game info sheet with the wrong key bindings...

So, long story short, you can safely get Garou and the second Shock Troopers game, but beware of Sengoku 3. In its current state, it's really only worth getting if you're a huge fan of the game, and considering the very cheap price.

kbnrylaec: I have no hope for any real improvements. Maybe better GOG Galaxy support?
Anyway you can use those ROMs with other emulators, so I am fine with it.
Same here. I probably wouldn't have bought them if I couldn't integrate them in my existing MAME setup (I plan to build a MAME cabinet in the forseeable future).

For players who expect some kind of "Enhanced Editions" however, these releases are not recommendable.

Lukaszmik: Is this the same emulation version as was featured in Humble Bundle?
Sorry I missed this one because GOG's notification system is not always up to snuff. From what I've seen (i'm not willing to make another purchase to find out) most of the GOG games are near-identical to the Humble releases, complete with missing keybinding, some (Like Metal Slug 3) have been updated to allow rebinds but have had their intros and menus hacked out and replaced with low quality static artwork, also for some reason The Last Blade is an entirely different port to the rest complete with obnoxious border graphics, hacked out intros but still has the same poorly scaled pixels.

All of them run like crap though, in fact, performance for me for all the games I originally purchased was significantly worse than the HB releases.

Both of these games have GOG Galaxy implementation (multi-player, invites, achievements etc.). These features are available only in Windows versions. Therefore listing those games as available for all platforms could give users an impression that they will be able to benefit from these features on Mac and Linux - which is, unfortunately, not true.

Hope this helps a bit.

Maybe it's time to release a Linux version of Galaxy?:)

RawSteelUT: SNK's pre-Neo-Geo games don't ever seem to get any love. Sad too, they put out some hot stuff in the old days. Wonder how they'd make the rotary-stick games work, though. Rotate with triggers? Turn 'em into twin-stick shooters?
The PSP version of Ikari Warriors did indeed have the rotation assigned to the two shoulder buttons. It was a feckin' trainwreck of a control scheme.

Was "comming soon" for last xyz years (feels like 5, but probably just 2 or 3). Slowly being not mentioned at all.

Also several new games come only in win+mac combo, missing linux, even when steam has linux version. Considering the recent problems with unity engine across distros (being broken by libc update IIRC), and how many linux versions on GOG require 32b libraries to work, I think it's probably the steam-like linux versions not good enough to pass GOG QA, and then either devs or GOG or both drop the ball and just don't include it, instead of fixing it.

Overall it feels like the linux didn't pick up fast enough, which feels so ridiculous to me, I don't comprehend it. Just this weekend I was on some kind of LAN-party with some friends, and most of the gaming machines had windows, so I did see how it looks and works, and it was ridiculous, they were trying to resolve issues which can be resolved in KDE5 by few clicks (like configuring global action on extended mouse buttons, on win they were unable to configure it as they wanted)... and similar. I simply don't understand why so many people still insist on obsolete OS, but obviously the sales/usage numbers...
