I now have a key and was given the choice between GOG & steam. Steam is saying 17 hours, which makes it available at 1pm of release day(tomorrow). Does GOG release the game at midnight tonight or later in the day like Steam? If it's a midnight release, then I'm going GOG. Anyone know for sure about what time release will be here at GOG?
There is no official statement regarding the release time here on gog as far as I know.

According to Obsidian the release time is 9PM Pacific tomorrow. This is supposed to apply to all distributors, so GOG should be at the same time.
And according to Amazon UK, the digital Royal Edition releases at midnight GMT +0 (in other words, 40 minutes from now).

That was my fear. That means 1pm for me on the east coast. Maybe I'll go to work after all. Thanks for reply.

I'm curious now. Please post again if it does release for you in 40 min.

Most probably they will release it the same time as Steam, I don't think a store can release it before another. In any case I would go with GOG no matter what, simply because of DRM-Free and it's GOG ;)
This forum needs an autosave feature... My long, eloquent post got deleted by a missclick on "cancel"... Yay me!

So, bulletpoints:
- PI sucks;
- they don't know themselves when the game will be available;
- go to sleep.

He's probably too busy playing the game to answer the question.

But I just checked and yes, according to Amazon UK, the Royal Edition (not the others though) is available to download now.

It's not supposed to be. Everything I've read suggests that all versions will be available at the same time, which is still ~12 hours from now. The only exceptions are press copies, which obviously aren't generally available.

The Amazon version is redeemed through Steam which means that you might get your code at midnight to redeem on steam, but you won't be able to play it until Steam unlocks it for play.

Ah, yes that makes sense. Pre-loading is apparently available now for steam, but of course the game won't be unlocked until the release.

That's the price for the Hero edition. Champion is 59.99, and Royal 89.99.
