Darvond: I think I get what you're saying; but you're also missing the point entirely.
Yes, games are addictive. After all, what would Super Mario Bros be without it's hook?
But the problem stems a little deeper, in that certain addictive & compulsive behaviors are being abused, such as is all too often the case in Gatchapon games.
Think of it:
‣Daily login bonuses to encourage someone to keep coming back.
‣ Limited time events to guilttrip you into playing more.
‣
Paid events that you can only enter by shelling out.
‣ Weighted odds against unpaid players to "
encourage" them to pay.
‣ Inavailibilty of better items or characters without payment.
And so on.
THOSE are the actual problem. Mario doesn't beg you for 5 coins if you fail a stage.
This...these are also some of the majority of those that the WHO/etc had in mind with the new classifications.....NOT just simple game players as some would think/claim.
GameRager: Because everyone has to give a damn about something or life is less worth living? :\
idbeholdME: Of course. But tastes of other people shouldn't be high on your priority list.
What if one has similar tastes/beliefs and likes finding kindred spirits? Also sometimes it's fun to find new things to like/dislike/etc or to choose to give a damn about. That also makes life more interesting.
(If you mean we shouldn;'t let other people's opinions/tastes make up upset/etc or take them too seriously I agree)
