No news post yet, as far as I can tell. I think the game page appeared yesterday. Apparently it'll be $14.99/€14.99/£11.99.

I loved this on Nintendo DS years back. Think it's been remastered once before, but this looks more like a remake with completely new art and UI (hopefully no generative AI anywhere...). Good to see 505 Games still publishing here day one.
Hello petravonkant!

Thank you for commenting on this upcoming release!

I do own the original retail release on CD-Rom from "Puzzle Quest - Challenge of the Warlords", though.
Maybe, I should try if it still runs on modern OS. (An interesting detail about that one: you can simply copy the installer file found on the disc and practically have a DRM-free backup.)

From what I saw in the trailer of the new Immortal Edition, it looks more like a full remake in higher (4k) resolution and completely overhauled graphics. And I am not so sure about the new designs especially of the characters and the additional animations during the puzzle gameplay sections.

I will have to see the final result to decide, if it would be worthwhile to me.

Kind regards,
foxgog
Great news, thank you for finding it out and shareing.
Sweet finally a drm-free release of it and wouldn't have known it was coming iif this thread I didn't see

Original had expansion, called "Revenge of the Plague Lord"
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puzzle_Quest:_Challenge_of_the_Warlords) that has not been released on PC, so I think that from PC player point of view Immortal Edition will contain new content.

Edit, quote from wikipedia:
"Besides improvement in graphics and support for newer systems, the game will include both the Revenge of the Plague Lord content, and the addition content from the 2019 Switch release, as well at least one additional new class and additional content"

Sulibor: (...) additional content
Hello Sulibor!

Thanks for digging up this information about the additional content from this upcoming rerelease!

Contentwise, it seems to be indeed a worthwhile addition to someone already owning the original PC release.

Kind regards,
