Technobabylon, the cyberpunk Wadjet Eye adventure, is available for pre-order now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Wadjet Eye, the prestigious paragons of pixelated-but-modern point-and-click adventure game hits, are back with yet another exciting release. In Technobabylon the adventure is set in a dystopian future where genetic engineering is basic surgery, and a good day is a day on Trance. Enter a city controlled by an all-knowing Artificial Intelligence and a terryfing police force, and take control of the game's three protagonists: Charlie Regis, a rogue agent of the secret police force; Latha Sesame, a jobless Trance-addict; and Max Lao, a woman torn between her past and future. Together they'll have to unravel the dangerous secrets of a high-tech society that functions just barely.

Pre-ordering the game right now means a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, and its batch of goodies when the game is released:
-- Full soundtrack
-- Recording session video
-- Production art gallery (concepts, 3D models, full-size portraits, etc.),
-- Technobabylon Codex (PDF with backstory)
-- Poster art wallpaper

Pre-order Technobabylon, the retro cyberpunk adventure, now on GOG.com! The game is expected to launch on May 20, 2015.
so when the game is out will the deluxe version be 14,19 euros?

How many versions will there be ? 1 deluxe or also a normal version?

i have the other wadjet games and if this new game is about the same as the other games, then it will be a nice addition to the collction.

What if I tell you that Primordia was the first game in 11 years that my ultra antisocial brother played until the end and enjoyed as if we were kids again?
Gotta tell you, dear dev, that Technobabylon got him aroused again :P
Thanks a ton for being so awesome.
i checked the weekly picks and the icewind dale enhanced edition, and there's nothing in them
i already have quite some games from the activision deal so i will have some cash saved ,
that most likely will goto Technobabylon ....

i am waiting fot more info to arrive but its quite likely it will be added to the other wadjet games .

Aw. Do please go on. We love flattery.
It's not flattery when it's sincere, and you sure know how to make those big pixels shine. I had a blast with several of your other games, so this one looks like it will make me break my "no preorder" rule :)

This looks absolutely fantastic. Wadjet Eye is on the roll :)
I'm glad someone keeps this style of games going.

deonast: Ah but will that soundtrack be FLAC or no FLAC. Or will it be all retro sounding and not gain much benefit from lossless?
The pre-order will probably be in several formats. At least 320 kbps MP3s. But your call for FLAC is noted.

After release the OST will be available on various platforms, which their support of lossless is varied. CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon MP3, Bandcamp, etc.

The soundtrack is not entirely retro. In fact...none of it is. By "retro" I mean chip tune. It obvious has a sci-fi feel to it which incorporates synths.

In fact I'll just list the libraries I use:

Hollywood Strings
Omnisphere
Vienna Symphonic Library
Storm Choir
Oracle
Project Alpha
Project Bravo
Emotional Piano
Hollywood Brass
CineBrass CORE

Welcome to the club :) Not only is this the first time I ever (as in ever ever) preorder a game, I even went against my "no purchases above $10" rule and my general "don't buy any games at all until game purchasing addiction is defeated" rule.
That's a lot of rule breaking so I sure hope it will be worth it but as I said above, no doubts on this one even though I'm a skeptic with all new releases.

My skepticism has something to do with getting burned on the initial releases of Daggerfall and Arcanum...a lot to do with that, actually. Fortunately, it's virtually impossible for a traditional AGS adventure to be so bugged and I don't recall experiencing any noteworthy bugs in previous Wadjet purchases so preordering this game was kind of a no brainer to me.
I am so very excited for this game and have been waiting so long for it to get released that I budgeted money just so I could windmill slam the 'buy' button the second it went up for pre-order. I am a huge adventure game fanatic ever since I was very young (going as far back as Zork, Sierra and the Lucas Arts adventure games).

That joy of such titles are why companies like Wadjet Eye Games, Daedalic and the like bring me back to those days of first discovery; where every game was a new adventure and they were always so exciting, fun and new. WEG (and the games they distribute) so very well capture the spirit, enjoyment and imagination that was sadly lost for a long time. They prove that you don't need multi-billion dollar budgets to create something truly remarkable and of beauty that will stand the test of time. This is something large devs tend to lose sight of all too often; quality isn't measured in the latest super 3D virtual whatchamacallit, but in the heart, and soul that should go into each creation.

I am so looking forward to playing this amazing game, and I look forward to being able to stream it so others can see what a truly wonderful developer/distributor (such as Wadjet Eye Games) is capable of providing whole generations of gamers (new and old).

TLDR; I am excited for this game and I love Wadjet Eye releases. ^_^

Nice to know. I'm also a bandcamp buyer so I'll keep it in mind.

link: http://static04.gog.com/upload/forum/2015/05/1869e902f8eb47f52d27f03e756874d3bc9811f9.png

is 14,19 euro for preorder technobabylon with the 25% allready included ? or...?
is the price 14.19 plus 25% once the game is released?
adding about 3 euros or more to 14.19?

i saw lots of preorders but this one confuses me

Will the game support the brand new GOG Galaxy client? For example, will achievements be implemented?

Most likely, it's a mistake by GOG. There is no indication that the game will have a launch discount.

arcanum? i guess : Arcanum: Of Steamworks and magick obscura ?
i saw the reviews wayback, most of the 'complaints' were that the games was 'unfinsihed' well i never got to play the game to the end so i cant now if it is 'incomplete' .
i saw the game on the release went to the shop and bought me a copy on cd, big bxo with nice big paper manual, i still have it.

Back then you could try to play online but that was horrible, the 4 people online were off in a minute and always telling the game is incomplete, needs tons of patches etc etc...
Well i bought it never got to finish it, and i bought i on gog aswell, just like all games i have on cd, i buy these the minute i see them.

With unfamiliar games i usually wait longer ans buy on good sales.

Well since pillars didnot came cheaper then 42 euros (preorder) i guess this one wont be either so i guess i take a shot and preorder it, (first preorder) and see it it will work without problems.

just pre ordered it ...
seems the link is already on the shelves, never pre ordered before so did not know what would happen.
now i know.
also made a pdf of my order in the mailbox.

gamesfreak64: arcanum? i guess : Arcanum: Of Steamworks and magick obscura ?
Yep, that one. The initial release was a buggy laggy imbalanced mess and they even had to make a patch for the first patch because the first patch was in itself too buggy.
I got sent a free copy of the game for review in a publication but I was nonetheless shocked to see a game being released in such a sorry state. Daggerfall's initial release was even worse, basically unplayable. Both games deservedly managed to become beloved cult classics but not without a rocky start.

yup the dev did f up the two games and thats very sad cause they would have been so promising...
i never got a patch for the retail cd, back then i did not had internet (sounds silly )
but all things were bought in store on cd/dvd....

Nowadays its unimageable having no internet.
