gamesfreak64: it is.... and too me most (if not all original games i have) will always be better, back then they created with the means they had, and it was wonderful. now with todays technology all has to become more 3d engine like, i dont like 3d, handrawn graphics or art/pixel art like the classic have are always best, moneky island 3d, ? no way i ever buy or play that, i like the cartoony graphics , 3d is excellent for onine FPP games (shooters)
like cod and that, please leave the single player games in 2d :D

games with only ASDWZ that s?x .......
I have owned the game since about 1998 and I still hate the way the game controls. Exodus was a huge improvement with the small features. Better controls and the save system was a blessing. The original game is a classic, a great looking and sounding classic but it has a few little things that just makes it misery to go back to.

Well not only graphics are slightly different (not the problem because you stil doin stuff left and right most of the time like original) but the sounds in game are changed so environment and characters, enemies sounds different than original, too different, too artificial, too clean and only similar replacements and to me worse, but that has to be expected with general "remake".

Don't say that stuff if you didn't actually heard that in game, I had the example on console so already tried, it's not the same, they should be better and faithful with improved quality, not washed out redone. On the other hand graphics and music, ambient feel better, only voices are inferior and done wrong but you will have chance to compare later.

I'm buying it on steam in a few days but I'm not comparing them. It's a whole new game as far as I'm concerned. I'm trying to avoid being that grumpy middle aged tosser who compares everything to their hey day.

They have stopped announcing that a game is regionally-priced ever since Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms. I doubt that they will bother doing so anymore.

Not really, it's basically the same old game with replaced graphics and sounds on Unity engine with few new features in and slightly re-arranged but overall the same transition between levels.

But it is still not the original is it. I don't see the need to judge it in comparison with the original because it isn't the original. Had they re-skinned the original game, that would be a completely different story.

Indeed, New 'n' Tasty is a ground-up remake of Abe's Oddysee. It's therefore based on Oddysee, but it was always intended to be its own game - it's absolutely not a reskin, as you say. :)

Of course, we're delighted that people take the time out to play the game and leave feedback, but New 'n' Tasty was never meant to replace Abe's Oddysee, the two are happy existing side by side. :)

True, the controls are a bit awkward, but i am not the person to go new version because the favorite game had dodgy controls, one also does not trade his girlfriend cause she has some bad controls :D

I gave it up for Abe's Exodus. Now THAT is how it should of been done! haha. I'd happily give up my woman if it didn't control right, bugger that!
