Wasn't built in a day.

Imperator: Rome is now available for pre-order DRM-free. Pre-order to receive the Epirus Flavor Pack as a bonus. It contains unique cosmetic items, 6 event chains and a new music track.

With the death of Alexander the Great, his four successors are squabbling over his once sprawling empire. Make your own legacy as you navigate the politics, enforce your rule, or exploit the trade routes of a land in turmoil. Will you go with democracy or monarchy? Quash a rebellion or try to avoid it? Keep your citizens happy or subdued? History is waiting your move. Make it grand.

Grab the Deluxe Edition for the Art book, wallpapers, and the Hellenistic Flavor Pack.
Pre-purchase exclusive content just means I'll likely never get this, unless it becomes available later.
So what about that "Imperator Unit Pack" for EU4.
Do we get it if we pre-order the game on GOG or is it only for those who buy the game on Steam and the Paradox store?
You know what would be a cool addition in deluxe edition?

All of the fookin' "let's split our game into 10DLCs and charge for each and every single one of them" DLCs that's gonna cost another 400$ in adition to base game.

DRM-free or not, Paradox is one of the most predatory and anti-customer company in gaming.

wocabec: I know Italian localization is not much profitable, but this is a game about the Roman Empire.
You made every languages avoiding carefully Italian. C'mon!
You're not missing anything, really. I have seen the Spanish translation for some of their games and it only made me want to change language to English ASAP.
Not interested right now. I don't like Paradox' DLC-approach. I have no problems with proper addons (on the contrary - Witcher 3 is the best example that it works and can be fair) but to demand money for missing stuff (even if it's "only" aesthetical stuff) right from the beginning is not in my interest. Many of Paradox' games have a whole bunch of tiny DLCs. I don't like the feeling of buying an incomplete game, so I'll wait for some years until a "gold edition" (or whatever they call it) will be released.

Beautiful new DLC platform. \o/

The game will come out broken, BUT no worries they will release shit load of DLC instead of fixing the game.

That's Paradox today. You want to buy and support this greedy "people", so they can keep going this way, the choice is yours!!!
OH HELL YEAH! Now they just need to release EU4 and CKII.
_Not_ a Day 1 announcement: game available on Steam since yesterday.
Sadly, GoG is 1 day late... (I've already pre-purchased the game on Steam.)

Were there any news the game was expected to hit GoG _today_?
Welcome the game on GOG!

But I'm weary of Paradox business model: hundreds of DLCs.
This means that, I'll not get this one until a few years.
I really appreciate the day 1 release. I really appreciate the Linux support.
I am really wary of an endless stream of DLC releases.
I'm uncertain if the gameplay would be quite to my liking.

*wavers*

Yeah, no, I guess I'll have a look at it again a year from now or so...
I am curious as to whether this will include a serial key that entitles an owner to download the game on the Paradox Launcher. Since we don't have a Linux Galaxy client, updating a game entails constant uninstallations and reinstallations, and considering Paradox games are regularly updated (in most cases), this gets really old. I could just get it from the Paradox store, but I like to support GOG and I also prefer to pay in my local currency.

Stellaris offers this as an option and it's been great so far. Hopefully Imperator does as well.

Lots of good news today! It's great to see a Paradox game come here day 1... and makes me wish I actually liked grand strategy games, so that I had a reason to buy it :P On the plus side, I assume this means their other GOG releases have sold reasonably well.
So...

Why do we have this, day one, but there's still no sign of Europa Universalis IV?
Or Crusader Kings 2...
Or Cities Skylines...
Wishlisted....
