A good day to die.

Vikings, Slavs, Anglo-Saxons, Germans - some of the most savage armies history has to offer are clashing swords, bodies and warcries throughout medieval Europe. Command the army of your choice in gory RTS battles influenced by the terrain, your troops' morale, and of course your tactical intuition, as well as your skills in managing your temporary settlements. For your gods, your glory, your legacy.
Any information regarding this tiny-weeny-itsy-bitsy small delay of 6 friggin' months? Any explanation of sorts? i'd very much like to read about it.

I tried it on a free period on Steam, looked interesting enough for me to keep an eye, but this is unacceptable.

One blunder after another as of late...

Swedrami: And besides - this is not much different from backing a crowdfunded game. 6 months is nothing compared to the couple years you'll have to wait for the finished game or the port to the platform of your choice, in case the game is a multi-platform title.

Enebias: Nope. It's nothing like crowdfunding.
There you have a project most of the times in its early stages needing funding to advance in development and with a specified plan for everything (when it is made by serious professionals, at least); here you have a complete game that was promised and wasn't delivered while elsewhere it has already been available for months and it is now even hugely discounted.
There are no redeeming factors at all here, harshness is only due.
Well, I don't see it as drastic.
But I'm also very, VERY patient, always was.

One reason could be that GoG really wants to offer the game WITH a functioning multiplayer portion. But Destructive Creations, the dev of Ancestors Legacy probably built the multiplayer netcode around the framework of the other platform and is still in the process of making multiplayer work with Galaxy instead.

Something tells me that as of late GOG doesn't really care about delivering functioning multiplayer games here... Redout was delivered without MP and nobody seemed to care, least of all them.

I went and browsed a bit on these forum threads and it's been so far an astonishing journey: not only they kept silent during this whole delay here, but GOG related posts were not posted here... but on Steam forums after GOG users went straight there and asked.

I subscribe Enebias on this one: harshness is only due, and I repeat my previous statement: to have games delivered in this fashion, might as well not present them here at all.

I'll make sure to give it a more thorough run, but I'm 100% certain that as things stand, 1C won't get a cent from me...
Destructive Creations is a polish developer, so the fellow countrymen bonus might play in here too.
In regards to giving the dev extra slack and time to make it work.
So, this whole thing was just a practical joke, right?

The only way this whole situation makes sense would be to think that Destructive Creations was trying to get back at gog for rejecting Hatred. By putting their new game up for pre-order (and probably have it sell reasonably well - by gog standards), and then pull out the rug from under them on release day to show them "we got Steam, so we don't need you as much as you need us".

The initial excuse for the delay was that they "outsourced" the implementation of properly working multiplayer. Later (much, much later) inquiring users on the Steam forums were told that there won't be crossplay between Steam and gog. It makes their whole multiplayer excuse for stalling the game look disingenuous (if not straight-up bullshit). Honestly, at this stage, even if it does come out, who would buy it?

I wouldn't, until I was reasonably sure that all updates and patches had been released and the development cycle was finished. Who could trust this developer to keep the game up to date, after this fiasco?

A pity, because this game looks like something I would enjoy. But they have lost me as a client before the game is even on the stoee.

Shame really. Consdering how very few people are playing online, DC needs every possibility for the audience to find a match.

On the other hand, maybe devs decided that MP simply not worth the effort, considering it's practically emply anyway.
