I wonder how random it really is, not because of any intentional bias, but just because it's hard to do random in code. It wouldn't surprise me at all if GOGs random generator is basically total carp. Likewise the glitches e.g. the game owned function is broken for many of us, it seems entirely plausible that some people will never get a random freebie no matter when they click.

However it works I don't believe anyone at GOG would bother trying to bias the freebies based on anything like account age.
