Not what I wanted, but can't complain about getting a free game.

Lol. I was only trying to crit on games I wanted. But with seemingly everyone trying on every offering, i took a peek at Ink. And what do you know - CRIT!! Again, lol. Haven't seen Wasteland 2 or Xenonauts yet. Saw Grimrock 2 once. I'm out for the rest of the day but hopefully have another chance or two the next few evenings to try my (un)lucky dice roll again.

Give it a try. It's a good game if you like TBS games. Not as complex as some of the classics in this genre, but one that you can easily play when you just have an hour left and want to complete a mission before you do something else again.

Thanks. I'm not a fan of strategy games, but I will keep an open mind when I try it. Right now, I have a backlog of just over 100 games(!), so it'll probably be a while before I get to it.

Nice! Got a critical hit on Quest for Infamy! :-) Was sitting ready with my credit card, waiting for this one to come up especially, and now got it for free. I love Gog. :-)

Hmm still no critical hits, but now this is the second time getting a notification saying "swing and a miss...this offer has expired...", and there were still 180 out of 200 left.

The "swing and a miss" message is a bug, and it has nothing to do with crits. If it happens, just hit F5 to reload the page and it will be gone, allowing you to buy the game.

Oddly it still shows the sale price and the message with the ability to buy at sale price without refreshing which led me to believe I was too late for the critical hit. So, those weren't missed crits, just me being generally unlucky with all of these promos that have random freebies in them. Still, at least I got some deals.

Nope, it has nothing to do with the crits. It's just a bug. Read the message carefully. It says the offer has expired.
It's just misleading to some people because it has the same "rolling dice to hit" RPG flavour as the critical hit message, but they actually have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Also, if you notice, it happens only with certain prices, for example i've got one on every game priced 4.89.
