I know about the ban here on topics of politics (I suppose that includes religion and sex and drugs and.... wait... what can we post about?) and I'm really, SERIOUSLY, N O T trying to start a political discussion. I am simply very curious and am asking a question.

And that question is this: Would PC result in even very old games getting patched just for that?

I know I'm old, and so I'm guessing my old memory is misremembering again, but I'm playing Two Worlds again, gog version of course, and I just got the Stone Skin skill, and the guy makes his speech about how it will harden your skin so that a normal blade won't penetrate your skin and then he says "And it will protect you from magical attacks as well."

And i could've sworn I recall him saying "though it won't protect you from nagging women." I swear I recall that. And I'm not going to argue the fact that it is in fact a sexist statement (duh), but it made me curious to wonder if now companies are feeling so vulnerable to charges of sexism (rampant in the gaming industry) that they would patch 15 year old games?

There's plenty of anti-white racism and anti-male hatred to get your teeth into in new games. Most old games didn't bother with that sort of thing.

really?

Okay before anyone takes the bait, let's get back on to the actual question, since I was pretty unclear so I will rephrase.

Was Two Worlds patched to take that last part of the conversation from the necromancer selling the Stone Skin skill out or not?

ADDED IN EDIT: I guess I should of phrased it this way: Has anyone heard anything about that specific conversation in that specific game being patched? Hope that's clearer, though with my aged brain I probably have no hope of being clear lol.

Changelog shows 2017 as the last time Two Worlds was updated, so possibly maybe?
Although I can't imagine neither Reality Pump nor Topware Interactive (or their respective successor companies) caring that much about a single insignificant line in a 15-year old game to have it changed or removed.

Having not played neither the first or second Two Worlds that's about all I'd have to contribute anyway.

Edit:

Another way to tell would be if other things like scantily clad female NPCs (if they're have been any) are now covered up or equipment that would usually show cleavage or a bit of leg/butt cheeks on female player characters does not anymore, I guess?

oh, good point. yeah, it includes a female character with lots of leg and lots and lots of cleavage and that is still there. so i guess not. yet i swear i recall that line because i remember laughing to myself and thinking i wonder if they will catch crap about that. i guess i'm deluded yet again.

I guess you can find old gameplays on youtube to check if this dialog was actually there.

Why not? There is nothing sexist about not liking nagging women. No one likes nagging women, including other women themselves.

I'm not familiar with the game, but it sounds like a line that might only be said when a certain side-quest has been done (or not).

maybe it is a weird thing like you were thinking that, and it bled into as a memory.

It happens. Remakes of older games sometimes remove controversial elements. The most obvious case recently was remake of Commandos 2 that removed swastikas and symbols of Japanese Empire (Rising Sun). In case of Worms Armageddon on Steam changes were more subtle:

Taken from: https://worms2d.info/Steam_release_(Worms_Armageddon)

[i]Removed soundbanks:

Angry Scots
Jock
Rasta
Team17 Test
The Raj

Other changes:

The fanfare "Pervo Laugh" was renamed to "Crazy Laugh".
The Iraqi team flag was updated.
The "Aphex" flag (based on musician Aphex Twin's logo) from the original CD release of Worms Armageddon was removed, possibly due to copyright issues.
Additionally, other flags like "Kamikaze" have been removed.
The "Euthanasia" training was renamed to "Advanced Weapons Training".

Here's the dialogue in question. Around the 3:23 mark in this video from MANventures. For what it's worth, the video was uploaded mid-2019. I'd assume it's the latest version, but I haven't played the game myself.

Okay. THANL YOU. My memory was wrong on the context (he didn't say it won't protect you from nagging women and instead said it does protect you from magical attacks AND nagging women. I knew I remembered something about that. So wow, I wonder why it's not there now? Mayhap (lol) it is related to a side quest being completed or not completed or maybe your level at the time (I know your level affects the price you pay for the skill so perhaps it also affects the response???) Mayhap (lol) the cost can be 300, 1000, 3000, or 10000 (at least those are the amounts I've experienced) and since separate dialogue was created to cover that perhaps that nagging women line only made it in one of the dialogues maybe????

And I want to apologize to GOG for perhaps skating the line on what's allowed to be posted and since every post in this thread is low rated (including yours) I want to apologize to the GOG community as well. I didn't mean to offend or get anyone who responded to lose rep. I am truly sorry. I really was just curious. I wish you guys would just down vote my posts and leave responders alone.

The line is still there, both in text and sound, just checked for myself with the aforementioned 2017 build.
I assume it's probably tied to certain prerequisites and conditions like being short of the 1000 eurodollars the Necromancy teacher is asking for the lesson, whether it's the first time you're initiating the dialogue with him or if the "stone skin" dialogue option is the first thing you go for?

No need to apologise for anything, it's a perfectly reasonable question to ask.
No need to worry over the downvoting too, at least as far as I'm concerned. I possibly couldn't care less about some number going down (or up, for that matter) in count. It means nothing and is best ignored.
