Swedrami: The line is still there, both in text and sound, just checked for myself with the aforementioned 2017 build.
I assume it's probably tied to certain prerequisites and conditions like being short of the 1000 eurodollars the Necromancy teacher is asking for the lesson, whether it's the first time you're initiating the dialogue with him or if the "stone skin" dialogue option is the first thing you go for?
No need to worry over the downvoting too, at least as far as I'm concerned. I possibly couldn't care less about some number going down (or up, for that matter) in count. It means nothing and is best ignored.
OldFatGuy: I too have posted many times about how I couldn't possibly care less about rep too. However, it is also true that some people do care, and I respect that, which is why it's disappointing to see every single post in this thread low rated, and I see no reason for it other than they were answering my question. I don't understand why my question has had this result but it evidently has and again, to the GOG community and especially to those that did bother to respond to my question I am sorry. I tried to be careful and phrase it in a way as not to offend, but obviously failed (as well as failing at being clear about what I was asking in the beginning lol)... I wasn't asking about patching games for PC purposes in general as I do know that happens but whether this particular game was patched after all these years.
Rest assured that it has absolutely nothing to do with how you phrased your, again, legitimate question or anything. For a few people it just has become a kind of sport and/or their life's mission to blanket-downvote
ALL of the posts, no matter the subject or content.
After all, there's not a single thing in the known universe that has the potential of not pissing off somebody somewhere, for some reason.
