What is a battle royal game?

Something people use to be popular on Twitch.... until the next big craze comes out,

its what will happen post brexit when we run out of x factor contestants to throw in the arena.

A multiplayer third person shooter game in which players are dropped into a world and have to scrounge for resources with which to kill each other. Last person (or team) standing is the winner and in order to force people into conflict (and prevent camping), the battle zone gets smaller as time goes by. It's inspired by the Japanese film series Battle Royale, in which a random Japanese school class gets dumped into an area and are forced to kill each other for some sick TV-show (if memory serves, I haven't seen them for over a decade). A somewhat more famous take on the same concept is the Hunger Games series of books and movies.

Think "last man standing" blown up to way too many players while taking away your guns at the beginning of a match. *yawn*

Seriously lets be lazy and create a battle royal with Procedurally generated content / Levels because we're lazy and can't think up any cool enemies and let's give it extra generic weapons classes with Ultra Generic player representation now let's make it in 3rd person with annoying as F*ck camera angles just to piss off first person shooter fans and let's make craftable things cause kiddies like that sh*t and let's make it look cell shaded and crank up the colour saturation, Lets call it fortnite because that's how long it took us to make it.

We then charge $60 for the base game $25 for each of the 600,000 DLC's and an online shop to buy credits @ $5 a credit and $1,000 (or only 6,000,000 credits) Loot boxes with Sh*t items in them like a red baseball cap and a yellow caaAaaAaaAaape.

Geez... Who would have thought that sold at all ( it sold well unfortunately )

Ah, sounds like Radical Heights, a flash in the pan Battle Royale that died within a week.

Exactly that is all that Fortnite is, It's Radical heights with a few things cleaned up and every little dimbulb is wolfing it down
