Niggles: Any comments on KB II itself? pro cons?

MadalinStroe: This is a turn-based strategy/tactics game, so I was really hyped when I saw it on GOG. But then I read some reviews of STEAM. Apparently "the story" just ends. Literally you fight a boss, the screen goes black, credits roll, and you are then told to look forward for the conclusion of the story... which will be sold as DLC!

Even at 55% off, I'm not going to spend money on a game with an incomplete story, just on the promise that I'll be able to spend more money to buy the endgame. There's a reason I avoid games as a service like the plague. I'll keep this on my wishlist, and when the complete edition gets released I'll buy it and enjoy a finalized story.

If I misunderstood/misrepresented anything above, please correct me. I'd actually want to be wrong about this, since TBS games are my favorite genre, and King's Bounty - Legend is among my favorites.
Aaand it's out of my cart and put into the wish list for when there's a two-for-one sale in the future…

Pajama: Hopefully they have implemented the endgame for the GOG version but if not, I'll be waiting for the complete edition too.
Why should the GOG version be any different to the one on Steam? There is an abrupt ending and everyone will have to wait until eventually something big will be released this year. One can only guess that it'll be a DLC continuing the main story or is going to add some new quests and side-story, new areas and some new gear.

Much as I liked KB Legend and DLC contents, as much as I would love to play KB II, I will wait until the game is considered complete, meaning all DLC, updates and patches have been released here. Buying games on future promise, forget it! Developers and publishers have driven the lesson home numerous times: They promise many things, then ignore and abandon their game here, because it is bothersome to keep it up-to-date on many platforms and consoles, while they keep supporting and updating it on Steam and still gladly accepting our money, not to buy until everything that's supposed to be available is made available.

Wishful thinking!

Indeed. :-) While it is very possible for it to happen, KB II isn't the rare exception you had hoped for. Steam customers have to wait for a continuation or finalization/real ending to the main story and so do we. It's an equal position, where at least we are in the advantage for once, knowing what we got to expect. ;-)
Yep, unless you're not in it for the gameplay alone, wishlisting is the way to go (hopefully by the time we get the ending at least the base game will be cheaper, I mean, even discounted right now I can't really say it's cheap).
