Many of Metroid fans were insulted by the quality of new Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS) game showed at Nintendo E3 2015. I'm not a fan, played almost all of them (except first two and Pinball) felt this game was *odd* at best.
In case you are interested here is a Petition from change.org portal.

Since I haven't found similar topic here I decided to create one instead. So what is your opinion on subject?

That would be stupid because it sends the wrong message. It tells them we don't want a metroid game even if that's not what the petition means. that's just how publisers will read this.

I am not thrilled by federation force at all but I tend to not fuss about game I don't care about. I care about metroid but not about this game where they put the metroid name on in hopes for it to sell. I'll just ignore it.
Hm, another petition that will probably fall on deaf ears.

Regardless, it did look like dull garbage. I'd be very excited if they announced a 2D game along the lines of Metroid Fusion though.
Fanboys will be fanboys. Instead of petitioning for a new game in the series, they're trying to kill one that's already being developed because it tarnishes the name of the series.

I hope that someone with a little bit more intelligence gets up and tells Nintendo: "look what Sony did with Shenmue; we're willing to pay up front for a real Metroid Prime game."
Other M has already tainted the Metroid name to the point where it is now joining the C-list of Nintendo IPs: get used for experimental crap. There is no way this game will be cancelled, but they could at least just change the name to Federation Force. There is no reason to further drag the Metroid name through the mud. And what's with the "Prime" in the name? Is Prime now where the experimental stuff goes while non-Prime is reserved for the True and Honest Sakamoto-approved games?

And if you're wondering what the ABCD-lists are: A-list IP games are games that get full attention, like Zelda, 3D Mario, Smash Bros. or Metroid up until Other M, B-list IP games are still treated with respect but not much fuss is made about them (Fire Emblem). C-list IPs are not treated with respect, they are IPs tacked on to experiments and outsourced games, like Kirby, Donkey Kong, and now Metroid. And then there are D-list IPs which are simply dead (like Mach Rider or Metroid prior to Prime). I would prefer an IP to be D-list rather than C-list, at least then there is nothing tainting the memory anymore.

Shenmue is going for crowdfunding because the people pledging will be pretty much the only people buying it. The reason there was no Shenmue 3 is hardly anyone was buying the first two games. I really hope Nintendo never does crowdfunding.

Yeah crowdfunding AAA games is just not the way to go. It turns crowdfunding in a very very early preorder at least that's what it will turn into when the big publishers get their hands on it. Shenmue 3 raised my eyebrows when it went to kickstarter but that one can get a pass because Shenmue has Always been for a very niche market and I can understand Publishers don't want to touch it without some early backing. Stuff like an official metroid need to stay off crowdfunding because it really really doesn't need it.
Well that's weird.
If you don't like it, don't buy it.
No need to be a douche about it.
Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love, butchers gonna butch.

couldnt agree more

dont like the game ?
dont buy it

thats a signal nintendo understands best
I'm surprised all the pro freedom of speech people aren't outraged at this attempt at censorship... I wonder why...
Is it just me, or is there a petition about everything these days? Someone should really make a petition to implore people to stop making petitions for every stupid thing before they entirely lose their impact. Anyway, I can just imagine the pitch for this game.

Employee: "I had this idea for a game involving chibi mechs!"
Boss: "Okay. Mario, Zelda, or Metroid?"
Employee: "Actually, I thought we could create an entire new—"
Boss, pulling out a gun: "MARIO, ZELDA, OR METROID?"
Sure, why not tell Nintendo how to spend their money?
Petition = blank cash register paper to be used by PR firms and lobbying groups intent on translating feelz - $$$.

And Metroid fans? Any self respecting Metroid fan is now 43 years old and too tired and busy for playing Metroid, much less signing petitions. Find some new game gimmicks to gripe about, please leave these old gaming warriors a break.

Well duh, surely random people on the internet know better than a company that's been around since before most of them were even born?

Hardly. Shenmue was one of the best selling Dreamcast games. Shenmue 2 sold less, but the Microsoft deal meant it wasn't available for Dreamcast in the US, only for Xbox, and there were complaints about the Xbox version.

There are more PS4's at this moment than Dreamcast and Xbox consoles combined when Shenmue 2 was introduced, certainly many more than Dreamcast consoles when Shenmue was introduced. The new game will also be available for PC. So I would estimate that, assuming it gets good reviews like the original, it will sell a couple of million copies. I'd say it will sell better than a true Metroid Prime game for Wii U will sell.
