SpooferJahk: Federation Force doesn't look that bad to be honest, actually looks like a good spiritual successor to Hunters which allowed you to play as other characters alongside Samus. Why should it be canceled? Hunters wasn't great, but it was still a good game and none of the Metroid games were truly bad in any sense, the fans need to calm down.

rtcvb32: Well considering each 3DS requires it's own game, it means you and your friends need to buy the game 4 times... Especially if the game ONLY works requiring 4 people. Compare that to any mario party game which requires 1 game for 4 players.

Otherwise the graphics look like a N64 game. I haven't seen enough to personally like/dislike it, I just know I'll never play it. (previous experience trying to play a 3D Metroid game on the DS gave me hand cramps...)
Yeah, the cramping is the reason why Hunters on the DS was not great, shame really since it is one of the better FPS games on the console.

On the multiplayer thing... yeah that kinda blows, I do not own a 3DS but if it is like the NDS there could have been at least some sort of wireless download in the game's file for at least a stripped, but competent multiplayer mode.
Why cancel the game? Let them spend their money on this. And then don't buy it. That way Nintendo learns a harsh lesson. And anyone who is interested in this game can still give it a go... and then join the opposition xD Now, if everyone complaining about the game goes out and buys the damn thing anyway on release day then I guess we're beyond salvation... :P

Wolf3: I ran into a game breaking bug so quit

Bavarian: Yes, the infamous Other M bug. You know how Nintendo handled it? It's hilarious. You had to export your savegame to an SD card, send it to Nintendo by mail, they would fix the file and send the card back to you. That's bugfixing Nintendo style. In 2010.
Yeah, that was hilarious! I suppose maybe I should have done it, but I'm just like "SERIOUSLY?" and sold it.

I have just as big a problem with Hunters. They're as much Metroid as Pinball was.

I wouldn't sit around asking for it to be canceled, but it's a joke to ignore Metroid for 5+ years and give us a deathmatch game wasting the name in its place.

Other M and Prime weren't as flawless as the 4 mainline titles IMO, but at least they were TRYING to be actual Metroid.

Cadaver747: Really? It hasn't been fixed any other way since then?
Not that I know of. Nintendo didn't allow patches on the Wii, and it probably wouldn't have been possible anyway since the system only had very limited flash memory and there was no infrastructure for handling installations and download content other than the stuff from the built-in shop. There might have been a follow-up edition of the retail game which had the bug fixed, but I honestly don't know.

They patched Skyward Sword so it wasn't a policy thing.

Not really need since you could avoid the glitch by doing it in the right order (forest, mountain, then desert)

How is that relevant to what I was saying? It doesn't change the fact that they patched it, which is all I was saying.

I understand I am just saying that there is a way to avoid the glitch.

And yet they patched it. So clearly "Nintendo didn't allow patches on the Wii" isn't true when they patched an avoidable bug. The Other M one was also avoidable, I believe it only cropped up if you backtracked immediately after beating a boss instead of proceeding.

I'm just not sure why you're bringing up that the Skyward Sword bug was avoidable. I don't see any relevance...

Well what is the discussion. That Nintendo as of now is releasing games that need to be patched? That Nintendo is begninning to show signs of losing their quality standard? (as in there games are reletively bugless)
