I couldn't care less about Persona 4 being released on Steam. I'm never buying it there.

jepsen1977: Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal would be two games that would be great to have on GOG.
Personal 5 Royal is trash; they literally censored that game to appease ResetEra mobs, which is an appalling act on the devs' parts.

If they are going to release it on PC, then they'd need to release the original & fully uncensored version. But of course in reality, that would never happen.

Right... totally ruined the game, the removal of those 2 scenes....
There are several wishlist entries for this. These two have most of the votes:

onkelll: Persona 4 non-golden on gog then?

MadalinStroe: Why? Golden is an expanded version of the original game, including new story elements. Why would you want the old version?
I like the game the way it was, voice actress for Chie probably being the biggest thing. Either way, no biggie, still good. Besides, I think there's value in providing the original versions of games, especially on places like gog.

As much as I hate ResetEra push for censorship and some devs falling for it, here they only censored the translation not the scene themselves, so if it's ever released on PC, it's something that could easily be patched.

I see, so they changed one of the voice actresses, then I can understand how some people might be upset about that, since it's a subjective preference.
Japanese companies are quite fond of DRM, so it's not that big of a surprise seeing denuvo implemented. As long as such silly things are involved, I'm not jumping over fences to grab my wallet.
Too bad Steam is the only PC option right now. One can hope things will change, but SEGA has published a lot of games on Steam that still have not made it on GOG.

Hmm, maybe I should just get P5 Complete on PS4 rather than the Royal Edition. At least we can agree that ResetEra are a bunch of wankers.
I saw the ad for Persona 4 over on Steam by pure chance, almost fainted, and bought it immediately. It's a bonus that it only costs 20 Euro. I would never have thought that Atlus would port another game to PC since they never seem to communicate any readiness to do so.

Yes, I would have loved to get it on GOG and without Denuvo - and, as with a bunch of other games, I will buy it again should it ever come here - but I'm happy it made it to PC at all. Small steps, especially with Japanese companies who often display a reticence to leave the beaten track in terms of distribution.
