Added new prizes to the list.

Thank you to skirtish for the donation of Baldur's Gate: the Original Saga + Baldur's Gate 2: Complete and Psychonauts. :)

Thank you also for the participation of the Linux community in posting some great tips for trying out the different distros.. Distrowatch was a new recommendation I didn't know of. As a rather new Linuxer, I second the recommendation to try a few different distros before settling on one which suits you best.

Please keep the discussions and tips coming.
+1 for the giveaway and good luck to all those that enter.

I am not entering.
Penguin-hosted GAs are so sensitive to my needs.

Good crop of games. Not in, but +1!
Yay, fellow penguin user :)

I jump on Linux back then when Vista was released. I still use windows from time to time, actually just installed win 10 a few days ago. But despite all improvements windows have, I still prefer Linux for its lightness and simplicity.

For a tip. Use symbolic link. Symbolic link can act as a shortcut. For example, I have a partition that I use to save all my data mounted in /media/Part1. In there I have folders like Documents etc. I created symbolic link in my home folder to the one that's in Part1 so whenever I save something on my documents folder for it will be saved in Part1 partition instead of home. This is handy when I have to reinstall Linux I don't have to worry about losing my data

To create symbolic link, in terminal type

ln - s destination_folder symbolic_name

An example with my Part1 folder :

ln - s /media/Part1/Documents Documents

I do linking all general folder in home to the one in my partition.

As for GA, I'd like to be in for :

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - GOTY Deluxe (includes TES:Arena and TES: Daggerfall)

Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete

Thanks
Thanks for the giveaway, bjgamer!

I'm in for:

> Torchlight II

Though i don't use Linux regularly, I've grown to appreciate it more over the past year or two. I've been using an USB drive with a live build to boot up an old XP computer on rare occasions. Not a robust build, but it gets the job done and I know I'm only scratching the surface of Linux's potential.

Hey, new penguin guy eh? :) Welcome to the club. I myself switched from Vista to Linux (ubuntu studio 8.04), when TPM/Palladium thing was going on, had it enough. Had much "fun" with ATI graphics cards, moving to Nvidia, but after 2013 things reversed, and I am all AMD and Intel now for high and low end gfx. Lots of water flown since then, lots of experience gained, I am an "all-linux" guy :)

Anyways, I want to perhaps light one possible star on your horizon. When you have time, give NixOS a try. That won't be the distro that you expect, it might even scare you off. Perhaps, you should try it after using and understanding mechanics behind Arch and Gentoo.. But it may possibly end up to be your ultimate most favorite fire-and-forget atomic system. However, its very distrinctive from what you typically describe as "linux distro", in a positive way.

Cheers!

/not in, thanks! Choice of games is really awesome.

Thank you for the tip! I had heard of NixOS and Arch, and Arch seemed to be more for after the wife and I were comfortable with tinkering and experimenting. Mint Cinnamon provided a smoother first transition from Windows and would run most of our games easily (Ubuntu core). The wife is an old Unix & Dos geek tho (dating ourselves here) and has always hated Windows and the lack of adaptability or control. Just a quick look at NixOS again, we might both like experimenting with it. :)

For those who have not tried Linux yet - I found the Mint distros a good place to start, especially for gamers. The great thing about Linux, however, is that it's adaptable and there are many 'flavors' out there to suit individual needs and preference. Take a little time to check them out, perhaps thru Distrowatch as suggested above by nevarRed. And ask questions - as you can see our Linux community here is friendly and helpful.
Thanks for the giveaway

I'm in for:

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - GOTY Deluxe
Psychonauts

I like Debian, but for now I'm using Puppy Linux, AntiX (from RAM), because all my SATA ports have died. Excellent full-featured distros for live usb/cd.

Thanks for the generous giveaway.

I've not been brave enough to try an alternative OS ( not even Apple)

I may get the opportunity next year when we redecorate the eldest s bedroom. There is an old PC in there, so if it runs I may give it a try with Linux

I would like to be in for the following please

Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

Good luck all and Seasons Greetings
Nice to see a Linux related GA.
Though I am currently not on Linux, I have used Linux in the past on my main system. Debian was a nice and stable distro, though the tradeoff was latest updates. But the repo was huge. I certainly wish to return to Linux sometimes in the future, OpenSUSE seems a nice distro.

I am a little shy of entering GAs, so I won't be participating in your GA. But kudos to the OP and other donors for their effort.

Merry Christmas and happy new year in advance!! :)
Thanks for the giveaway.
I'd like to be in for:
Hard West
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Power to the Penguins!
Oh, I forgot. Please, count me in for:

> Deus Ex

I played the game years ago and now I'd like to complete it within my plan to beat all titles from CRPGs Hall of Fame before I die - and adamhm's wrapper seems to be a great ally for that plan ;) Unfortunately this time Deus Ex also fall out of my Winter Sale budget, so it'd be nice to take a chance here.

Thanks for generous giveaway and have a fantastic Christmas!

One of the reason I don't use Linux is my PC being used by some family members. It's hard enough to getting them used to Open/Libre Office let alone some alien OS. But hey maybe next year I build a personal new rig and force myself into Linux.
