Over the last week or so I've been trying to buy the new Bard's Tale Collecters Ed but it continues to time out when processing my payment, tried on both Galaxy and Chrome. I first reported this issue back in 2014 (https://www.gog.com/forum/general_archive/payment_wont_complete_processing_stahge) and 6 years on it's still an issue, worse if I'm still suffering from the problem then others must be to. Between this and the issue allowing people to buy the same game twice without warning my trust in purchasing through GOG is now at an all-time low.

GOG's payment processor is in Cyprus, so there's always the possibility that your bank or credit card is blocking the transaction. Also, GOG has issues with US-based gift cards, since those will not work on a non-US based website.

And before you say you're in Australia and that does not apply, there's always the possibility the payment method you're using is doing something like what I've described.

Edit: GOG's payment processor is apparently in Amsterdam, Netherlands, not Cyprus.

You make an excellent point however my Credit Card hasn't changed and, after the previous problems, my bank has confirmed a few times now there's absolutely no issue on their side.

In the 2013 post I linked earlier, a GOG Team member TheEnigmaticT said

"I've heard from Dev that this is a known issue if you have more than 350 or so games in your account; apparently there's some wonky bug going on there. They are on it and will have a fix as soon as they can......."

At the time I had about 400 games, now I have about 1800.

This issue seems to go hand in hand with the one which allows us to purchase a game without it being entered into our Library or purchasing of a game we already own adding a duplicate to our Library - an issue resulting in GOG giving me refunds in the past.

Everytime I want to purchase a collectors edition (or upgrade) GOG says I don't have I must find the publisher in my library to ensure this is actually true (almost never correct) since the system can't tell between a collectors ed and a collectors ed upgrade. Everytime I try to purchase something and it fails I have to scour my bank statement to ensure the money isn't missing, and then wonder if I can be bothered going through the drama with support to get it sorted.

TL:DR
I moved from my extensive Steam library to GOG years ago so I could support CDPR who I considered one of the last ethical companies left in the gaming industry, but in all this time I've never once had accounting (or purchasing) issues with Steam like I do with GOG. The service needs to be streamlined: It shouldn't try to sell me a Deluxe Ed because it doesn't understand I already own the game plus the Deluxe Ed upgrade, it should show the games I own when I'm browsing the main store front, it shouldn't have problems processing the same credit card I've used for decades, it certainly shouldn't be getting me all hyped up about the cool Cyberpunk shop items I can purchase only to negate that when I go to the shopfront and it finds out I'm Aussie.

I couldn't even purchase Wasteland 3 so now I'm forced to play it on my Xbox Ultimate Game pass for PC.

Are you receiving any error message or does the webpage remain unchanged when you press the "Pay for Your Order Now" button?

TheBigCore: GOG's payment processor is in Cyprus
I'm fairly sure that changed a few years ago.

There might be an issue with the browser.
Please try clearing your browser's cache, performing a clean refresh (Ctrl+R) of the page, and then logging out, and back in. If you're using intrusive plugins, like JavaScript and ad blockers, please try disabling these, to see if they were causing the problem. In some cases it also helps trying a different browser altogether.

If all of that doesn't help please reach out to our support so we can investigate this further.

On an unrelated note, is GOG's payment processor still in Cyprus or is it now somewhere else?

The current payment processor is Adyen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adyen) which is based in Amsterdam.

I get the "processing circle", however it simply continues to spin indefinitely.

Tried Galaxy and Chrome with no luck. The sale is over now so I won't try again but I appreciate the reply.

Sorry for the delayed response.

The symptom you describe suggests that you have a necessary script blocked - check that you are allowing scripts for GOG's new payment processor (ayden.com).
