Dogs for me as they are loyal affectionate and will love you till the day that they die.

Not In but I currently have two dachshund puppies, a seven year old Olde English Bulldog, a six year old Egyptian Mau, a three year old Lion Head Rabbit, and three four year old Miniature Sicilian Donkeys.

Needless to say, I fall into all the camps. :P

As for the death thing, miniature donkeys typically live about 40 years. It's not till they die, it's till I die. :P

I'm a cat person since my third ex and I rescued them. Our main cat actually understood what was going on and would crawl under houses with us and carry kittens out. Or sit on the mother so we could get to the kittens.

He also worked with a challenged child for about nine months who lived near us. He would go over after breakfast and spend the day with him. The kid's mother got thru to him that if she was able to teach him something, he had to teach it to the cat. The kid turned into a learning machine. Of course the cat would then come home and have to teach whatever he learned to us. Was funny the night he came home and tried to teach Angela's mother what colors she was wearing.

But I like pretty much all pets, but love cats. I like how independent they are and how soft most of them are. :P
Never had a pet growing up and now that me and my bro have left the nest, he got himself a kitten and it's so friggin cute!!! :D

I'm with the dogs, because when I was little we had a dog named Black that saved us from being stolen. Some thieves had entered the garden where we lived, and Black woke us all up with his barking. The bad thing is that the thieves wanted to silence him and gave him a brutal beating, which left him very weak. A few months later, as a result of this, Black died :(. Since we had Black we always had dogs as pets

Btw I am definitely a cats guy. I grew up with cats in the house and cats in the neighborhood always react positively to me and I always stop to pet them or play with them. Dogs are cute but they don't seem to me as smart as cats. In any case, dogs being always loyal and love giving is great, if only all women could be like that:)

I'm not really in a camp. I have four dogs and two kittens (and getting another kitten this coming week)

If its dog vs cat, Dog win. My family hated cats because our neighbors loves feeding stray cats and guess what? They litter in our front yard. We kept it unpaved (so it could absorbed rainwater) and those filthy creatures loved it.
There are perception that Muslim hated dog and they could not be kept as pet. But the truth is, only its saliva is forbidden and there are ways to wash it properly. But it's a pain in the ass to do so every time. So that's made keeping a dog is quite rare (and of course some even forbidden them all together) and our family with our small yard couldn't kept one.

I love them both, and I grew up with mini dachshunds because my parents were nuts about them. Long after my last pupper died and my parents had passed on, a co-worker was moving into a place she couldn't have animals in. She asked if I would provide a home for her two cats since they were siblings and she didn't want them separated. I didn't have any pets at the time so I accepted.

Flash-forward 13 years later and I am firmly in the cat camp. Sadly some have come and gone in that time, but they left their mark, and in the case of my furniture literally. I found cats to have more personality then dogs. I even had one cat that actually liked to play fetch. A couple of mine love to sit on my lap while I read or play games. And least I forget there is the purring, and the Formula 1 races they like to hold at 2:27 in the morning. Also the 4-way MMA match over the same jingly ball even though there are 12 more throughout the house.

All my cats have been rescues, either from a shelter or like in the case of my newest off the street. Of course as is the nature of cats I live with them, not the other way around :P

I'd take any game, but I am just as happy to read what others have said :)

Actually i've got a hedgehog, very cute and very grumpy, but i love her so much.
btw, i love dogs, 'because they are loyal and friendly. i've got a dog, in my mother's house, her name is Mishka and she's like my sister, i've got a really stronge relationship with her. . but i must choose some other animal... maybe will be a fox, 'cause they're really cute.

Once I was afraid of dogs,

But if I really would want a friend
