Someone obviously hasn't played Morrowind...
Starting over right now with a Dark Elf. Lets see if I can get past the docks this time!

Wish I could smooth out the FPS. I wonder if that's the mods?

I own it, just have never gotten far in it.

You should spend some time in seyda neen ("dock city"), there are fun quests around the lighthouse (more crafty than what you could expect in the first village at the time).

I just PMd someone after spending an hour screwing around and getting lost (but having a good time). IO need a team of people here I can pester with stupid questions. :P

Like I'm starting with a Dark Elf that I'd like to be able to make really good with a sword in a strait up fight, but also be crafty. Is Assassin any good or should I go Rogue?

Had a blast in the game. Still love the look of it today. Completed the main quest. It really took me back to some old games I played before its time.

Ask away tinyE. Um, yes the draw distance will have an effect on your frame rate. (not sure if serious)

Dark Elf is a good choice. (The devs liked dark elfs.) Long Swords are better than Short Swords I found. Even if your a crafty rogue type. I usually built my own class and skills, couldn't tell you about the preset ones.

Try to work on a bow and arrow slowly as a secondary weapon, it'll help with annoying flying enemies later on.

So even though the Dark Elf has a higher short blade bonus than long blade I can still make for a good long blade user?
thanks gogbear...

Absolutely. It's just a bonus to begin with. You can strengthen any skills you want on your character, even if your a mage you can work on swords.

Can someone briefly explain the enchanting system? I know about getting the soul gem, but what about the actual menu itself? Magnitude? Let's just say that I'm trying to make an amulet to counteract a certain pair of shoes I may have found.
Arrgh! Now I must install and play again!

It's complicated, but you get the hang of it. Those are excellent shoes, I think.

To counter them I think you need a specific setup with a constant effect remove blindness, if I'm guessing right.

Once you add spells to your spell list (Even if your not a mage) by buying them off spell sellers you'll get the option in the enchant menu for the spells you have in your list. You can create magnitude items, cast on strike items. The better quality of items will have more enchant points you can add to them.

One of my swords was Daedric Katana with cast on strike 1-75 points of fire damage over 1 second.

One of my items was Exquisite Shirt with constant effect 15% chameleon.

You can only create constant effect items with Grand Soul Gems, so hoard them like they're priceless.
Daedric Sword will have a higher amount of damage you could assign to it than a regular sword.
