I saw that the game "Sheltered" is on special at the moment and wanted to buy but then i noticed my review of a while back.

"I really wanted to buy this game until i saw "Abandoned on GOG by micktiegs_8" review. Now i know its a while since that post but you know what, there is no way to check on GOG what version a game is, when last it was updated unless you buy it. On Steam at least you can check if there was updates and when it came out, but NOT on GOG. So i am not taking the chance to buy the game because i have no idea if the game was updated since the post of "micktiegs_8". I really think GOG should have an option on a game page to see how updates are coming and what version game is and when last it was updated (date). This is info i am sure lots of people would like to know BEFORE purchasing. Nobody wants to buy a game that is DEAD with no more updates. ....and no way to check this BEFORE buying. This info needs to be on game store page."

I still see people complaining that the game is not updated.

So i wanted to buy but will rather leave it because i am not going to buy a game where the Steam version is updated but the GOG version was last updated a year ago.

I hope that someone at GOG sees this and perhaps think about adding version number or when it was last updated. Like an update history on store page like you can check on Steam.

Anyway, does anyone else think its a good idea?

(ps GOG losing my sale now because i am not prepared to buy a game not being updated and no way to tell)
There is a workaround way of knowing the current version of GOG games, and that's checking their corresponding sub-forum and looking for the (usually pinned) Changelog thread (thanks to the volunteers who keep them up to date, btw!)

As you can see in the Sheltered sub-forum, the current version is still 1.4 so yeah, pretty outdated.

Yep, a lot of people do:

Some of these wishlist entries are pretty old, so I wouldn't hold my breath...

Yeah, because that's not how to summon a Blue. That is how you become one!
@ muntdefems,

Thanks for the info and the reply. I will remove this game from my wishlist since i read in GOG forums that the devs say they will do it when they have time.
I do not support arrogant and lazy devs.

This is exactly the reason why we need update history and version numbers on store page. So that clients like me can see this game is not being updated and then DO NOT BUY.

I think i will be buying less on GOG from now on and move back to Steam. I do not want to buy games that never get updated because the devs could not be bothered to do so and there is NO WAY for me to really tell if it is being updated.
