Maybe Ill be pleasantly surprised but I dont think this is going to turn out well.

Bethesda should and probably is all hands on deck to fix up Starfield which is a disappointment no matter how you spin it. Starfield is the flagship for Xbox/Gamepass and Microsoft is likely pushing Bethesda to have its developers focus on making Starfield a killer game so it will be the main attraction to draw new customers (it is Xbox exclusive for a reason). So the A team is likely not working on this Indy game which is probably also Xbox and PC exclusive.

Second, a first-person game for Indiana Jones? Might make sense if you are creating a character in the Indy-verse but if playing as Jones, I would think you want to see the character. Indy is basically a platformer/puzzle game (solving the puzzles to clear temples and running away from/avoiding obstacles) which would better fit third-person.

Do think there are better developers for an Indy game (Naughty Dog, Crystal Dynamics are obvious candidates and both currently are in a lull since Uncharted ended for ND and they are just doing a TLoU2 "remaster" and CD a Tomb Raider "remaster"). I donr see this game doing well.

Bethesda arent making it.
Indy looks good. The Indy voice actor sounds pretty good. The title is... forgettable... but ok. The gameplay looks fine.

I never expected a new Indiana Jones game after the early 2000's and I'm excited to see the final product!

Just hope Disney Lucasfilm had very little to do with it other than signing off on it.
I had forgotten that I knew about this thing, even!

Thoughts from the trailer:
- That Indie tune still has the capacity to tug my heartstrings, even after all these years
- The title (and the concept behind it) seems to be pretty goofy, lets see what they do with it
- I suppose FPS could work, guess that's what MachineGames knows, and they don't want to stray too far from that, wouldn't personally have been my first choice for an Indy game
- I know it is Indiana Jones, but I really hope they don't lean too much into the ancient site puzzle solving (slotting the wheel into the wall they showed in the trailer)- especially with FP, that feels like such a half-measure
- Be nice if the 1st Person boxing was actually meaningful, instead of just a melee button to tap, but I doubt it
- I REALLY hope they don't try to go the Uncharted route (incredibly linear, fixed progression, with "tap the button to continue" type "intense" scripted segments- it doesn't SEEM like they are doing that, though.
The first person perspective seems a really strange choice. Will kind of ruin the "it's like a new Indiana Jones movie' feeling I would think should be the main selling point.

Also, is it just me, or do the faces look a bit off? Indy doesn't look that great, and Marcus looks downright bad.

Anyway, between the lack of a DRM-free release and the fact I'd need a new PC for it, by the time I might actually get to play it it will belong in a museum.

I hope they also don't just have some lever and wogwheel puzzles, but actual adventure gameplay components as well.
Indiana Jones - except for the second movie (and some console games) - was always more than a guy wandering around in some exotic place. There was always a story behind it, people interacting, focus on the story, not the action.

No Indy game is allowed to use Harrison Fords face, they always have to distort it.

One good thing aboout 3D games is, that they can still modify it until the release without redoing the whole game.

Senior Narrative Designer Edward Curtis-Sivess at Machine Games:
"Now we have the opportunity to tell a new Indiana Jones story for a modern gaming audience."

Mr. Curtis-Sivess there apparently having been involved in the development of Wolfenstein: Youngblood is all you need to know.

Same here

Agreed on the goofiness, but we've already had things like ducking a nuke in a fridge and whatnot so yeah.....

If it plays like a good Tomb Raider game(puzzles/etc) or one of the older Indy games, it might be decent enough.

I'd actually like if players could switch between the two, as I sometimes like such games in first person.
(depending on the game and also what is going on at the time in-game)

Yep, I'm out. This game is going to beat you over the head with current year.
Apparently, in one shot from the trailer a tablet is shown with "Quake 6" written on it.

I didn't double check, I trust the journalists there :)
mOdErN aUdIeNcE !!!

See you never. Wish they'd finally left Dr. Jones rest in peace.

6? What happened to 5?

Is that in refrence to something someone actually said about this game, or just a preemptive "it's new so it must suck" kind of statement?
