CharlesGrey: I wonder how that will work out... Will we be able to roll a new character specifically for the new expansion, or will we really have to play through the whole game again?
As I understand it, you can create a new level 40 character and directly start with it at the beginning of the expansion on normal difficulty.

Really? Where did you find that info? That would be perfect, as I've already completed the game several times, and I'm mostly just interested in the new areas/content.

yeah I remember reading about that. probably fun good time for another sale on the base game hint hint. and on the new thing too why not. sale all the things.
14,99€ ? Ouch .
Thanks for this thread. I want to buy this, but prefer to buy on GOG when possible.

TQ is my overall favorite ARPG, I really love the class combo system, and you even get to learn some history while at it.

My husband and I played the hell out of TQ, so when a touring museum exhibit for real terracotta warriors from historical China came to the Houston museum as a special exhibit, we had to go see it!
Amazing! One of the best news of this week!!!

MarkoH01: Oh yes, they are so amazing and I had so much fun waiting for the Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition patch for MONTHS and being ignored when asking for it. Really great guys....

No, seriously. They are good but they are not the best available. It's not the first time they kept us waiting for fixes for their game (while steam was fixed immediately) and they still haven't answered the question if we can ever expect to get the original Darksoiders 2 be added back as bonus since the Deathinitive Edition is ... well not so deathinitive after all. A question I asked them several times.

Just watch when THQNordic is announcing a new game. They will write ONE post and then they are gone. That's not support at all. I have talked with many publishers and many devs but I cannot even remember that I ever had a dialogue with them. I contacted them and I got ignored - end of line. So yes, while I also do appreciate that they bring many good and classic games to GOG their communication could be much better sometimes and they are far from being perfect.
Perhaps you are correct. I frequently am over-enthusiastic and i never keep track of time passed. Still, though, they did fix their buggy game and they handed out gifts... Gifts that others make you pay double price for (enhanced/complete/definitive editions).

Thanks! Good to see the devs thought of adding in that feature, so we're not dependent on third-party tools instead.

But I wonder what will happen once you complete the new 5th chapter on Normal difficulty. Will you have to go through the whole game again, before you can play it on Epic and Legendary? ( Or whatever the correct names for the different modes were. )

The more I think about it, the more I feel like they should have just turned this into a stand-alone spin-off or sequel to Titan Quest. Especially since it was done by a different team of developers than the original game. And the story is probably only loosely connected to the main game, as well.

Same. Objectively, Grim Dawn is probably a better game, but Titan Quest seems to have a wider range of settings and creatures, and I enjoy the mythological themes.

Lachelle: was titan quest like diablo3 a little?
The biggest differences between Diablo 3 and Titan Quest are the areas - Diablo maps are randomly generated, Titan Quest maps are pre-rendered) and the skill systems - in D3 you can change all skills at will, in TQ all your skill choices will be fixed.

It´s a matter of taste.
I like the beautiful rendered maps in TQ much more and the skill trees and are much more interessting to me.

Actually, Titan Quest does not have pre-rendered background graphics, they're all real-time 3D polygon graphics. The camera has a fixed angle though, and the maps remain the same on each playthrough. If I remember correctly, Diablo 3 doesn't have full procedural map generation either... ? Been a while since I've played it, and I never finished it.

As for the skill system, Titan Quest allows for skill re-specs as well, but it's not as flexible as in Diablo 3.

I think the most important factor is the setting. Diablo has the dark setting based on biblical themes, while Titan Quest has a mix of different settings and themes, but is overall brighter and more colorful. I think I like the latter a little better, and if someone wants a dark and gritty Action-RPG, Grim Dawn arguably does that better and with more creativity than Diablo 3.
A great way to visit awesome Titan Quest again.

The thing that sets grim dawn and titan quest and diablo 2 and poe etc. From diablo 3 is that they are not terrible. Even excluding the online only marketplace garbage, the game itself is bland, featureless, naff graphics, and a gimmick play on the real aRpg's without any shame or remorse. It's quite sad how far blizzard and all their software has fallen, and even sadder that people still support them. (To be fair I only played the original d3 on console for a few hours before binning the cd, total garbage.

I was going to argue that most of D3s problems were due to its long development time, hype, the real money auction house, always online requirement and other things, many of which have since been fixed/removed, or never affected the console version of the game, and that it's overall still a decent Action RPG...

Then I remembered that they killed off Deckard Cain in the first chapter. Using butterflies.

... Yeah, it really is kind of a shite game.
