So, I just heard of the new hitman. I love the franchise, so while I sure as hell am not going to preorder, I did go and watch the video. And what do you know? It looks good. The comments of the voiceover, how open the level looks... I was getting all excited.

And then I got to this point.

What do you mean, new levels over time? Some targets appear only once? How? Challenge a world of assassins? ... wait a minute. Is it just me or does this sound online nonsense?

Can someone appease my fears? I don't want t jump the gun on thinking the worst, but I'm really scared about this.
Sounds a bit like those time limited Pokemon events.
Unless the game sort of progresses in time while you play it and it's more like those Final Fantasy things where you can encounter party members at certain points and times during the game.
Or like daily challenges perhaps?
I don't know, it doesn't sound great.
Of course the checkpoint system turned me off completely with the last Hitman so I'm not holding out much hope for this one.
Oh they might also make it like Watch_Dogs where you're constantly assaulted with "You're being hacked" popups.
Just last week, I found out they'll actually release another Hitman movie in September. I was quite baffled.

I read some stuff about that. There is hope because the people making this one seem to know how they totally fucked up the 1st one and are addressing that here. The new one promises to actually make sense. :P

Actually, a Hitman with a timeline where you can't take all missions might have some potential. A bit like invisible inc, maybe? You've got a limited time per playthrough to deal with the leaders of that whatever organization mentioned in the video before they expose your identity and you get arrested. The longer you take in finding and eliminating the main targets, the harder future missions become by making your face better known and easier to be recognized for example. Some missions would give you extra cash, others reduce notoriety, and you'd have to pick and make do with what you get. Thinking about it makes me want to play such a Hitman, could be fun.

Except, they mention "mastery of the levels" and experimenting, which would point to them being repeatable, which wouldn't fit the above.
They're turning it into an MMO x CS:GO :(
I think that they idea of a dynamic world is pretty great I am very interested. But I am way too skeptic about its proper execution :/
These cocksuckers are gonna fuck up another great franchise...

They should add some actor that actually looks cool being bald. I found the first movie's main issue (not counting sucking ass) is that Hitman didn't look like Hitman at all.
Let's be honest, this Hitman movie is going to be your average shoot em all movie with some bald guy in a suit. I like those movies, but please, choose someone like Jason Stathan instead of a guy who doesn't fit the movie yet is better actor yet the movie is shit and doesn't need good actors.

A multiplayer version that could be fun would be to give someone (or a few) the Hitman role and the rest as Targets: their only objective is to survive but bonus points are given if they (team) help someone else survive or (free for all) jumps behind someone else and that person takes the hit but you manage to survive somehow. Then there could be a legendary bonus if a Target manages to kill the Hitman (or a negative/shame bonus for the Hitman).

It becomes sort of spot the killer instead of spot the liar/spy. Many different game modes like limits on time, weapons, information about the Target(s), increased security (and limited control of said security by Targets). Perhaps face restriction to 47 (so the Targets will know the face but not the disguise) or perhaps make it even tougher for Targets by giving the option to Hitman (men) to choose a randomized face.

Anyway, I'm greatly looking forward to the single player regardless specifically because of the open ended areas with larger space and more options to kill. I can't say the disguise system was a favourite of mine in Absolution but overall I really enjoyed it (not as much as SA or BM though).

Eh. That's what they always say. "Oh, no. This one will be way more faithful to the source material, we swear!" And then the film is released and turns out to be an even bigger pile of crap than the first one.

Admittedly, I haven't even seen the first Hitman movie, so I can't say anything about that. I was mostly surprised because, as far as I know, there hasn't been a high-profile video game movie in a while.

In general, I don't even mind if an adaptation of a video game isn't particularly faithful, since storylines in games are often very ill-suited for non-interactive media, anyway. The makers should really concentrate on just making the film good, but a lot of them are simply made to be quick cash grabs; sometimes entertaining, never truly good.

Let's hope for the best with this one.

EDIT: Never mind, I think I misread your post.

Yeah, I looked it and saw another actor, hence my rant.
