I'd like to be excited, but post-launch DLC, primarily geared towards multiplayer, and tied to Steam... I hold out little hope that this will be something great. Still, I'll definitely keep my eye on it and hold a modicum of hope that it turns out well for single player.

Huinehtar: Bards suck.

I am joking, I like playing bards too. ;-)
Yeah. The real problem with Bards is that they only really appeal to people that are both handsome and intelligent in real life.

Uglies gunna hate yo.
Only 6 classes ?
Improvement from DA but downgrade from BG, hope we'll see more gameplays soon :-)
My excitement died with "Steam" written all over the FAQ page and there's no sign of a Linux port, but then again Mac isn't mentioned either so maybe there's still hope.

DRM-Free and Authentication don't really go in the same line, unless you intend that only for multiplayer :D

Unfortunately, Galaxy requires authentication. So a lot of multiplayer games on GOG will have a form of DRM on them programmed by the GOG developers themselves.

But since authentication is required for multiplayer games on Galaxy, the single-player game would be DRM-free and the multiplayer service would be protected under authentication. And since this game's single-player will probably act as an advertisement for its multiplayer parts (much like Neverwinter NIghts did for many), I hope they'll see it just as valuable as Steam.

Moreover, Neverwinter Nights is available here -- GOG is probably thought as the premier place to get it. And although they say Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age are influences, I think almost everyone thinks "Neverwinter Nights" before BG or DA when they see this title.

Vythonaut: To be honest, I care only for the single player campaign and whether it will be released on GOG. For that reason I just made an entry in the wishlist:

I'm sure that every D&D fan would be interested in bringing this game here, so make sure to vote. And tell your friends too! :-D

I added the links that you have provided to vote for the game and to visit the home page, to the first post too. Thanks! =)

It always annoyed me that we didn't get a PC game with a proper adaptation of the 4E rules, especially since one of the reasons they were criticised is that they felt too much like they were designed for a computer game.

So while this looks great, I'll reserve judgement until I see a) how it makes its money, and b) if it bears any resemblance to the rules, or if it's just another generic hack & slash with some D&D trappings thrown on top.

I like them, and I am neither. Well, all right, maybe I could be considered intelligent when compared to most of the users I meet at work. Maybe. Ladies aren't flinging themselves at me anyway, so I'm probably not very handsome.

The game looks and seems great (excepting the few classes others have mentioned, but that's inherited from the latest suited-for-toddlers D&D rule set, isn't it?), but why the fuck did we lose the 6-character-party after the Infinity Engine games? Yes, that annoys me every time I boot up Dragon Age: Origins too, and that was supposed to be a "spiritual sequel" to the Baldur's Gate series.

Thanks! I hope some folks will add to my post to show support for bringing it here. If 100 people say "Yes! GOG!" we'll make a bigger impact than just one.
That's interesting, but I see 2 problems with this game;

It's a Steam exclusive according to their FAQ.
And they don't seem to specify which D&D ruleset they're going to use. I really disliked the 4th edition rules in Neverwinter (the MMO) so I hope they won't use those. I'm not sure they can use 5th edition yet, however, plus I don't know enough about that one to see whether it's any better than its predecessor.
After seeing the Dragon Age mention in the trailer:
does EA have its fingers in this. ?

They have... sort of. From the IGN article linked in the first post: 'Sword Coast Legends' mechanics are inspired by [sic] the 5th Edition D&D rules set'.
I was kinda hoping they'd use AD&D 2nd Edition rules. :)
Voted. Interested to see if it makes it to GOG. Better hurry up and finish NWN2.

Bloody FAQ page has 23 counts of the word "Steam" in it. And 0 counts of "GOG" or "Humble Bundle". But on the bright side, searching for "iPad,", "iOS", "tablets" got 0 counts as well.

Not getting my hopes up until I see the final game and opinions across forums of course.
