Cavalary: It's not that the EU is a bad thing, far from it.
KiNgBrAdLeY7: Really, now? Europe is great. European folks are awesome. "Union", on the other hand, is the worst thing that happened to both. Even only for mercillessly crushing the autonomy of a member and blackmailing, as well as imposing on it, is more than enough reason, to invoke... "Scepticism". And think of, consider, "alternative" choices. Eurofarce will soon fail, the 4th Reich is going to fall, EUSSR and EUCCP have expired. European Elections draw near... European people take notes, watch things unfolding... They are so going to take right decisions, this time... Righter decisions, than those of the past.
IMO the EU is one of the
worst things to ever happen to Europe. Basically all member states with little pull(greece/etc) have to bow down to the policies made by/supported by the bigger ones(Germany/UK/etc) & their governing body......this includes controversial things like this copyright directive/link tax BS and also
MASS immigration(
note, I don't think immigration is bad, or that some people are worse/better than others....I just don't like letting in massive amounts of unvetted/unchecked people into one's country without background checks/due process & caution). Any person who dislikes such policies is called lots of bad things(racist/sexist/islamophobe/homophobe) and/or called a traitor(in a way) to their people/their country/etc before being summarily fired/arrested/ignored/deplatformed/etc, and any country that tries to leave the EU is basically threatened with shunning(see the whole EU cutting off UK if they leave, for example).
This copyright dirvetive isn't to protect little content creators from "evil" thieves.....it's to protect big businesses from future competition(to sites like twitter/facebook/google/etc, and major content creators), to allow news/other sites & creators to charge people for sharing news/information freely, and to stifle dissent/unpopular opinions.
