That thread explains how to download and install the offline installer versions, but if you want more like a Steam-like experience which is more automated, then download and install the Galaxy client, and install/play your games with it.

It depends what you want, GOG offers two different ways to install and play your games, with and without the Galaxy client. I personally don't use Galaxy right now, but play my GOG games using those offline installers.

Once I have an OCD to download all games in my library, when a new update occur I would download it again. But updates come again and again in a never ending stream, so finally I say darn it, I should download the game when I want to play it.

Also some games updates that break the aesthetic or make previous strategy invalid because of gameplay balance change makes me happy that I still have the old version.

Or when an update "fixes" beneficial bugs, like those that let you do fun things.

Fortunately, Morrowind, even in its final release, has some fun bugs to play with, and that can be said of other Elder Scrolls games as well.
