Just bought Turok 1 and 2 and I am loving it. Still making my way through 1 and will be going through 2 soon. So i was wondering if Turok 3 or Evolution were also in the works of being remastered? Would anyone here know anything about that? Would love to play through and own all of these games. Thanks :)

You can try contacting Nightdive Studios, they have Twitter and a website and all that.
Well, you'd be missing several more, such as the titles on Game Boy.

Yes, really.
Turok 3 was never released on PC. They would have to port the game to PC from the Nintendo 64 source code, if they even have it.
Remastered? What are you talking about? I had looked at the screenshots for this before. It wasn't remastered. It couldn't have been.

..checks store page..

Amazing. This screenshot is of the remastered version? How terrible was the original? Quake 2 (released around the same time) wasn't remastered and doesn't look much worse.. possibly even better.

Turok 2 was also remastered.
It's barely as good as Unreal (not remastered and released half a year before Turok 2) and doesn't even touch Unreal Tournament (not remastered and released one year after Turok 2).

I wouldn't have the guts to call that "remastered".

First you don't seem to know what "remaster" even means. Remaster is a "buzz" word when you release basically the same old thing, but to run on modern system, enable higher resolutions and maybe change a texture here and there or add some new effects. Turok games have improved lighting, support ambient occlusion and some other modern effects, support modern gamepads, custom FOV, etc... Don't mistake that with a "remake", which involves making a new game from scratch.

Second of all Quake 2 and Unreal were the most graphically impressive games when they were released and they were designed for PCs, while Turok games were supposed to run on Nintendo 64 too. Still Turok 2 had a gibbing and animation system that was way more advanced than anything in Quake 2.

I believe they do. The way Stephen Kick has talked in the past, it seems Night Dive acquired more than just the first 2 games and he's alluded to them potentially releasing ports of 3 and Rage Wars but never officially confirmed it. Like all things, it's probably dependent on how well the first 2 sell if such things ever become a reality.

Also whether they have anything prioritized above them - based on recent news alone, it seems like they work Kaiser to the bone on a round the clock basis almost, with him having gone through 2 Turok games, Forsaken and now continuing on with his reverse engineering of Blood and the (unconfirmed) possibility of going back into PowerSlave now that they got the legal issues cleared on it.

Would you rather they changed all the guns to walkie talkies?

I know what remastering means. For example, you have a movie that was originally released on VHS. It looked like crap. When it's remastered, they get the original film and get as much detail as possible out of that. They don't go dumpster diving for an old VHS tape, polish it up a bit and scale it to full HD.

I have a hard time believing the textures were originally designed at this low resolution. Far more likely they were designed with a higher resolution but scaled down for release because no system at the time would be able to take advantage of it anyway and the game had to fit on one CD-rom as well as not take up too much hard drive space. 6GB hard drives were common at the time, so a 650MB game really would have been an issue.

There is a mod, "iddqd_textures" that appears to make it look a lot better. See https://www.gog.com/forum/turok/turok_modsmapstextures.
