The "Game Photography Contest", October 2016 Edition

Thanks to muratogut, RadonGOG, benderz, Ragnarblackmane, Laulajatar, genkicolleen and Vythonaut for the previous contests!

This contest's theme is: Your favourite NPC. Every game has them; NPCs. Sometimes they are fun, sometimes you hate them, sometimes they are just plain boring. But once in a while there is a really awesome NPC in a game, so I'd like to see pictures of your favourite one and if you don't mind a short explanation why you like that NPC :D
(if you can't decide several pics are also fine)

The rules from the original Game Photography contest by muratogut apply:

Contest: Take a photo from a game, and put it here. [...]

Rules (important):
1- These pictures must look like a real photograph and without the game interface, chat panel or any similar panel.
2- This is not a screenshot contest, so "hey look at my high score" or "phear mai l33t skillz" type of screenshots will not be counted as a photograph.
3- You can use minimal photo editing, like contrast, sharpness, hue, brightness adjustment, but please no photo montages.
4- Suitable photography forms and techniques will be accepted, aerial, architectural, cloudscape, landscape, street, wildlife photography etc... Treat the contest as an art contest, so you don't have to do things like photojournalism, documentary photography.
5- Don't cheat. If you put a picture that doesn't belong to you and this is detected, your picture will be out of contest. Take new pictures for this contest.
The prizes:
* A $9.99 game from gog - random draw
* A $5.99 game from gog - for screenshot I like best

Entries will be closed on 4th November 2016.
(closing delayed to Monday 7th)
Please state clearly if you are in or not.

Well, I don't usually take part in these, but, hey, I made this Mad Max Wallpaper that I've been using and I think it's good enough for participation. ^_^

Thanks for the contest! :D

EDIT: SORRY! I just finished reading the instructions... my pic lacks an NPC, so it's not valid. I'll see if I can produce one adequate enough later.

Isn't Max a PC instead of a NPC?
Nice wallpaper though.

Edit: Aww.. you figured it out at the same time.

Well if you can't decide a choice of favourite NPCs is also allowed ;-)

That is good to know, for all participants.

Until they arrive, without diminishing the Toaster's greatness, my first thought when I saw the theme was actually Colonel James Hsu, stationed at Camp McCarran, New Vegas.
There's just something about this guy, his attitude, and his voice; I always like running into him and he may be the main reason that I usually try not to piss off the NCR.
Calm is what you have to be when people look to you. And it's all you can be when things are out of your hands.

Not in, but had to post my favorite NPC. I adore him because he's so upbeat. Even when you deny him entry, he says you're doing a good job and that he'll get it right next time. He's never rude to you, and even helps you out.

Forgot about that guy, he is great.
Not in, but thank you for the contest Moon! :)

My favourite NPC is Claptrap, the little robot(s) from Borderlands. This guy is awesome; not only it's voice is funny, but it's personality is unmatched by any other NPC i encountered in any game!

Sorry but no photos of him, i ain't installing Borderlands now because i'll get addicted to it again. :P

I agree, I love Claptrap as well (even though many seem to hate him). His birthday party gave me feels. I tend to like the characters that no one likes, like Cedric the Owl from King's Quest. XD
Not in :)

My favourite NPC is definetly Daud from Dishonored. Although he is a PC as well in the DLCs.
Why? (spoilers obviously)
I really like his story arc. The game introduces him as one of the main antagonist, the assassin who murdered the empress. During the course of the game you just can't wait to finally kill that bastard.
Then you reach his base, and there you learn that he deeply regrets what he did, and truly wishes he could change the past. You learn that he was just a tool, blinded by coin and pride, in the hands of the main antagonist.
If you play low chaos (stealth - no/few kill) then he shows true honor by dueling you 1v1, forbiding his men to attack you, even though they could easily outnumber you. Also, after you defeat him, if you chose to spare him, he thanks you and teleports away, showing that he could have teleported away anytime, but no, instead he waited for your judgement, accepting the fate he believed he deserves.
He is also the only assassination target, where sparing is a true mercy. (With every other target sparing means a "fate worse than death")
Plus in the DLC you learn his side of the story, when you play as him. (<- best DLCs ever :D )

Getting a good picture of him is not easy, because of gameplay reasons, so here are two, one from a cutscene in the main game, and one from the DLC epilogue, that one is a bit spoilery.

Yeah, the poor little guy. :( Well, at least there was a lot of pizza! :D
*bump*
Time to apply myself, thank you Moon!
EDIT: Is there a file size limit? (2MB GOG size?)
And is it okay if Witcher medallion is showing in the photo? Only mod I found removes everything except for that and the status bars connected to it.

ZeroDrm: EDIT: Is there a file size limit? (2MB GOG size?)
There is, 2MB. Although, if I remember correctly, it's fine to submit an image to the contest which has been uploaded elsewhere (e.g. imgur and the like) and link to it, so don't let GOG's upload limit keep you. (Plus, you can attach multiple files as long as they don't exceed 2MB each. Funny.)

(Regarding the Witcher medallion, that's Moon's territory, so I can't help out because I don't like to make assumptions BUT ... nah, nvm. :>)
