We’d like to inform you that, upon the publisher's request, METAL GEAR SOLID 2 will be temporarily delisted from our catalog on November 15th, 2021, at 8AM UTC. Apologies for the short notice.

For everyone who purchased the title prior to delisting, it will remain in their GOG library.

BanditKeith2: Any word on this that can be shared ? If not thats okay but the ''temporarily delisted '' statement has been this way for years now it'd be nice to know if any signs of it being actually getting relisted anytime in the near future is a thing or not.. Heck I am fairly sure if we get the newer MGS2 version from the MGS master collection it'd be fine with most users here especially if we get the whole collection here

dnovraD: And you revived a thread from 2021 to what effective point, then?

It effectively has 20,000 votes, Konami probably doesn't care today because of the effort vs sales issues.
Your issue here is what ? I mean seriously at least bringing this thread back to ask n the ats is better then alot of other recent ones I have seen being revived especially when its actually somewhat valid unlike other cases like say the Tomb rater remaster case where someone literally was basically advertising a Mod for that more or less and other odd cases

Where as this case its because a mod literarily stated it is' temporarily delisted.. Which kinda carries the the implication it was supposed to be a short period temporarily delisting rather then a long period delisting without any version of the second Metal gear solid game here.. .. as the phrase '' ''temporarily delisted '' implies or atleast carries the implication it is meant to be a short period till relisted

My issue quite simply is that from the realms I were raised in, it was considered a bit unorthodox to raise a thread older than 30 days, unwarranted 60 days, and 90 days or older was quite rude.

Things such as last wording a thread or trying to stir up an ugly argument again after all parties had left. In this case, there's been no pertinent information for years: Konami chose not to renew for the stock footage the game uses, so there are no new answers.

There was no news in 2022, 2023, 2024, or now. The situation hasn't changed. Had this forum been built to even a modicum of moderninity, this thread would have closed...after post 22, with the tolerances I'd have it set to.

And sure, that'd effectively prevent people like Swediemie or whatever from posting news on various titles, but it isn't their job to be a freelance courier; that's supposed to be the job of a news page that's mysteriously never been implemented, where such news as Metal Gear Solid 2 returning would rightfully go.

Eh heres where the issue lies it depends on when one has been on the net and the era of the net you are referencing in thread matters on reviving a thread.. As some people are used to when it wasn't that way among other things .. Now if one was trying to stir up as ugly argument sure bad to do and nasty ..plus if we was going actual conversations and topic that had laid long over again a good valid point..

But here I was just fully asking .. Heck I'd even have not asked if the threads message was edited sometime in the post to not have the ''temporally delisted '' fact stated like how say the Fallout 4 next gen thread was edited do to how the situation changed there

But on the news topic factors I am kinda at a loss why atleast the news threads don't get locked and the ''sale threads'' don't get locked after so long when they no longer are properly relevent .

And ya the prior example I gave is just a full on mod rather then actuall news on the game there nor any actual inquiring , yet that one was formated and worded like it was actual news for the game itself not a mod nor asking about it.. that case would have served best in the Tomb raider forums or in its own thread rather then the old news thread

Regardless I think you and me are in someway in disagreement where we won't see eye to eye and other cases in agreement
