There is a new free DLC listed for Dying Light: The Following.

It is called Dying Light Original Soundtrack.

https://www.gog.com/en/game/dying_light_original_soundtrack

However, when I compare it to the Soundtrack (MP3) that came with the Enhanced Edition, it is identical in size and content (track names). So it would appear they have now split the soundtrack off into a DLC freebie. Not sure why, as the final version of Dying Light (Definitive Edition) has been released and contains or will contain everything, including the soundtrack.

https://www.gog.com/en/game/dying_light_definitive_edition

In fact the game entry in my GOG library lists the soundtrack as two entries in Extras, with the free DLC being listed on its own last. The two entries show differing file sizes, but after downloading both they are the same size of 158 (162) Mb, and not the 166 MB listed for the DLC.

TES Arena and Daggerfall could disappeared from your account, so you may have to add them again. Dunno why, maybe some bug.

Not tracking free DLCs. Too many, and too random. I do track those that are given free as pre-purchase though :)

This feels more like a thinly veiled demo. Anyone played this and have thoughts whether the free version counts as a full game? I think there was one other game on gog like that too, correct me if I'm wrong

I really hate this trend of calling demos anything but a demo. Labeling a "prologue" or "chapter 1" or "the beginning". Why can't they mark demos as demos?
I know Marketing is all about reinventing terms to mislead and trick people into hopefully buying, but it just annoys the crap out of me.
Shantae giveaway extended by another 48 hours till 17th of June 2022 due to problems redeeming yesterday. So go go go if you haven't already!

I know that feeling :D Some of them might have unique stories/gameplay though. Not sure how many :) Think there was a demo thread potentially covering this.

While some abuse the terms for marketing reasons, there are supposed to be significant differences between them.

A prologue for instance is a portion of the game, not disabled in any way and may not even be included in the final game and is perhaps a mini prequel.

Chapters are also portions of a game, and generally they are a more significant portion than a demo might be, and not disabled in any way.

Demos quite often don't let you save and may only let you play a very small part of the game. Of course some provide a demo that gives a lot more than other demos.

When I see Prologue or Chapter I am certainly expecting to get more than I would with a demo, and that what is provided should be fully working. If not the case then it is a demo in reality.

To further complicate things though, sometimes a demo is something that is cut or significantly changed from what eventually appears in a game ... an incomplete alternate version of the game. We have even had GOG remove those from our game library on occasion, and they become a sort of rarity.

Sort of like the Gothic II overhaul, Chronicles of Myrtanos, there's another free overhaul mod. Daggerfall Unity with some extra mods hence the GOG cut edition.

Personally been following this for a couple of years now. It greatly enhances Daggerfall QOL and fixes quite a few bugs. Highly recommended if you're a big Elderscrolls Fan
