It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

mangamuscle: I do not know if this is the right place to ask, but, is there a list of DRM-fee games on steam that are not sold in gog? IMO those are viable candidates to be added soon (unless I am expecting too much out of gog's new region pricing offer to publisher's).
There's nothing like this, but I think it's a good idea. A lot of games are doubles.

Also, anyone know if the newly released iOS-to-PC game, Year Walk, is DRM-free?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/269050/

EDIT: The game tries to run without Steam, but it seems to have issues with Windows in general right now; people are reporting crashes (the Mac version is fine). I got it to run in Windows 8.1 by keeping Steam at the login screen and then starting the game from the install folder, so I suppose it's sudo-DRM-free.

mangamuscle: DRM-fee games on steam
Unfortunately, such things do not exist. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15 go suggest it there if you want. I doubt they'll implement the option for DRM-free games, Valve loves DRM, but who knows.

Anyway, seems a lot of the steamdrones are fatties since they got upset at a analogy involving fat people. Probably trying to be more like their god Gabe.
Add Demigod

Add Stronghold HD

Someone with an account might also want to amend the wiki; playing on Win 8, fyi.

Going to try out, and post about a whole bunch of other games, wish me luck!

edit: also, how do I get the registration key for space chem? I have a key file in the folder, but can't view the key.

Just added Ravensword: Shadowlands. It's in the current Humble Bundle, so yay, new round of games to test!

Yeah, a new round of games, that sounds awesome!

@SpaceChem: I opened the 'registration.key' file with a simple texteditor, at least under Linux. The only content was a serial number.

Thanks, got it.

Haven't found anymore yet, but I question the usefulness of finding DRM-free games on Steam because what if a dev or pub decides to include it down the line? It would be their prerogative if they choose to do so.
Goat Simulator. Not surprising, perhaps, but adding it to the list for posterity.

I wonder why we do not convert this list into a publicly editable web spreadsheet like for the list of games released on GOG (created by JMich I think). Then we would probably easily add a column for describing if the game is also on GOG or not. Then one could easily sort for those also on GOG or for those not being on GOG. No need for a second list.

I think that would be great and if I have time before somebody else has I will convert the list and search for games on GOG. Maybe somebody else will be faster than me.

cmdr_flashheart:
I think that's the reason why one should search for DRM-free games on Steam. If Steam told the devs or pubs to use DRM, there weren't any DRM-free games. It's a free decision, so we can find DRM-free games on Steam. And since some devs or pubs only offer their games through Steam it's worth for those who care about DRM-freeness.

Trilarion:
The list is already free editable, see here. Though I don't know if adding a column for availability on GOG.com is okay because the list is on steamwikia.

...
Good point.

If anyone wants a more general database, there's this site: http://www.drmdatabase.net/database

I don't know if the database has more entries for steam, so far both look the same.

edit: Valdis Story works :] Delete steam api.dll, playing on Win 8.

Now I can download a game and play Valdis at the same time, haha!

Friggin'. Awesome.
Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but I've been playing Anna on Linux, no Steam client running, and it seems to be running just fine -- at least, I haven't run into any particular problems so far.

Kick-aha: That is ethical correct but sadly still against law. I don't want to argue about it, but this thread should be a place where you share information about games that don't require any cracks for people who don't like downloading illegal stuff.
Actually, it's arguably ethically incorrect. Purchasing anything on Steam is actively harming both yourself and all of those in your community by rewarding and encouraging further use of the DRM platform.

you could take a look at this topic, and scan the list for games that aren't on gog

edit: i am an idiot, thought i was in a different toptic :p
