Emachine9643:
Not really doing anybody any favours by reposting this every chance bud- lets leave that stuff to the fakes, eh?
People can see the OP - and all the regulars know to check the thread if they feel the need.

New people, well, as experience shows they are as likely to end up on the list if they are legit as if they are not, so this thread and the reposting of that list is as useful to them as a cock flavoured lollipop at my dads funeral.

leave it up bud - stand by what you did and what you intend to be.

good idea for more peoples lives I suppose that - and I suppose very relevent to thread.

Anyways, not having a go at you, just a practical point really.

Blah...

SOMEBODY HELP ME GET THIS FART OUT OF MY SPACE SUIT DAMMIT!

Maybe you'd like to show me,where I scammed for a game.

Painted_Doll: What happened ?
avatar
real.geizterfahr: Someone downrepped a couple of his posts. Gunsynd thought that's not fair because he earned his rep honestly and didn't "buy" it with giveaways (people who do giveaways are "high rep scammers" in his eyes). He asked GOG to give him back his lost rep or to delete his account.

avatar
Painted_Doll: I had to contact with the Gog support and had to provide payment details as the last 4 digits of the CC , last purchased game.
avatar
real.geizterfahr: Funny... I thought GOG doesn't store our credit card details oO
It was a bit more then a couple lol

darthspudius: It was a bit more then a couple lol
But it was fairly minor until he had his meltdown and started on about how he was going to punch every face in Australia, or whatever he was saying. Sort of the rep equivalent of the Streisand Effect, I guess; just shut up and hunker down and it'll blow over ^_^

Wishbone: Not in the storefront system, but their internal economy system has to keep track of all actual money transfers. GOG is an official company, not some shady back-alley black market store. Their accounting department has to know the details of all transactions in order to do their job.
GOG says "We never save your payment data". If that's true the above cant' be true. Nothing to do with whether it's on the storefront or not, if they keep it, they save it.

It was quite impressive how campaign started off with a point and ended up like Mass Effect so convoluted and full of shit haha.

Fairfox: gunsynd gave/sold his account away?! There's a tale about a complete lack of perspective if ever I read one! Holy moly and a packet of salty chips.
Well its not all that surprising considering he did proclaim twice that he was going to give his account to Nes which anyone in their right mind (unlike gunsynd) would never do.

<i>"You want to buy my account,it's not for sale but I'll give it away to you nes."</i>

<i>"Yes,let's see Gog call the bluff and I'll give my account to a special person."</i>

Probably not the complete data. Just like the first/last numbers or just a hash of them, enough to reliably create a connection to existing orders/users.
The complete set stays with the CC processing company, like. i.e. Authorize.net.

More likely they just store the transaction ID or something similar. It's basically useless as a way of getting the original CC number, but if they need to give a refund or keep track of sales, they can use that. The CC processor is the only party that's going to be able to turn that ID into a CC number and honestly, why would they even bother? They already have that.

They asked for only the last 4 digits of the CC, and they might well not have more than that. The payment provider (PayPal, Visa, etc.) may be the only one to have the full card number. I'm no expert, but I think that is a common way of doing it. In case of a dispute, GOG would have to go through the payment provider to do anything anyway. Still, for accounting purposes, they have to have records of each transaction, but they don't need the full credit card number to uniquely identify a specific transaction.

They seem to have at least the last four numbers: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/known_scammers_mach_two/post91
See Wishbone's post above, too.
