That doesn't prove anything. Emachine9643 gets massively downrepped by nes and his army of alt accounts (he still loses about 5 rep per day). Many of us know about it and try to counter this attack. It doesn't work very well, but I guess that's the reason why many of his posts are high rated.

And this doesn't look right to you? Because, when you say:

Seeing people getting blacklisted from giveaways because somebody in here made an unprovable accusation is rather disgusting. Now, maybe they're guilty and maybe they're not. But, the guilty until proven innocent aspect of the whole thing isn't what this site used to be like.

It's impossible to prove anybody is innocent that's accused for the same reason that it's impossible to prove guilt in nearly all cases. Barring a Dr. Bob style cock up, there's no way of knowing for sure. You can build a certain amount of circumstantial evidence, but without the rest of the data that Mr. Gog won't share, you never really know.

Personally, I think it's hilarious the way people in here think that they're going to solve the problem. All they're doing is playing into the hands of a handful of trolls. Providing a score board and a way of scumming up all the giveaways in the process. As a connoisseur of trolls, I say bravo.

The correct thing to do is really to just fix the rules of the games. Games that assume that alts aren't going to be used are always going to be susceptible, there's not much you can do about that. Same goes for any giveaways that make demands on what you do after it's given away. You can't enforce the rule, so either accept that people will do what they like with their property, or stop giving things away. There's no way of enforcing or even knowing if they broke the rules anyways.

Perhaps it's because I've been here long enough to remember when the community here was classy, but I do think people need to stop feeding the trolls. The scamming here is probably not even motivated by wanting the games at this point. So even if Mr. Gog were to step in, I doubt it would make any difference as I doubt that nes, wakalo et al., are really motivated by wanting to have the games.

Of course a giveaway can make rules about what someone is expected to do with a game. Who the hell do you think YOU are? And if people don't respect those rules, they show themselves as a rulebreaker and others can choose to ban them from their giveaways.

In short, who the fuck do you think you are to tell others what they can or can't do with their own games? And who the heck are you to call the generous people who give away games all these names? Talk about trolls, you clearly are one...

Guys and girls, you do know that all that keeps those trolls alive is the attention you're giving them? There's an easy solution to all this crap:

- Kill the known scammers threads! They're useless. Everyone can create as many accounts as he wants. And nes won't enter giveaways with accounts called "rep-punisher" or "moronhunter" anyway. I'm sure he's got a shitload of accounts that aren't obvious alts. Every single scammer can create a new account if he ends up on this list.

- Follow the TBBBBoB ruleset! No visible forum activity outside of giveaways? No games for you! No scammer will maintain 10+ active accounts to raise his chance to get a $2 game for free. You see a giveaway without TBBBBoB rules? Hit the OP with a PM and tell him why this isn't a good idea.

- Reorganize the trading thread! Lower rep goes first, new members can ask trusted oldies to act as middlemen (send both codes to middleman to check if they're are valid). Ask Judas if he can sticky the OP to the top of every page (it's possible).


These are some very simple steps that would surely prevent 90%+ of scams.
