Hi ___, we're looking into this and lots of fans (including us) want to do this, so please keep an eye on future announcements. We'd try and get GoG version ready for day 1!

VanishedOne: It's still a 'wait and see' answer, but it seems more positive than the NeoGAF thread.
Well that's certainly good to hear. :)
Yeah, I thought it was an interesting answer (at least for us) so I posted it. Looks like there hasn't been any more 'definitive' news though.

I really want to give these guys money, like really. If its on GOG then more money (like the 35 pound tier), if on Steam then the bare minimum to get a digital copy.

edit: I'll post something in their forums and see what the answer is.

here is the thread: http://forums.playtonicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1320

Excellent news about a GOG release; it's good to see GOG swooping in and signing on with promising Kickstarter titles.
Details on the KS last update

"Today we’re double-delighted to confirm that a DRM-free version of Yooka-Laylee will be available via GOG.com on day one for PC, Mac and Linux alongside its Steam-enabled half-cousin.

If you’ve already shelled out for a PC, Mac or Linux code via Kickstarter then be calm, dear backer, as before release we will present you with the option to switch your code to a GOG.com version, all smug with its absence of DRM-ness."

"Alright, alright - you can stop asking now: YES Yooka-Laylee will have a DRM-free version and YES it’s coming via GOG.com! "

Way to go, team. First Bloodstained, then Yooka-Laylee.
It's only a matter before DRM-free takes over the world!

. . . Or at least the internet. . .

EDIT: Oh, and maybe GoG too.

Oh wow, DRM-free. I guess I need to back this now. :)

Edit:
The deed is done.

This is cute.

And wow.

And cool.

And wishlisted.
Well, that´s pretty sweet, sounds like our mails helped once again to secure a game for a GOG-Release!
Anyways, we need to have this news presented more promiently!
