"The creative talent behind Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country reveal an all-new platforming adventure for consoles and PC!"

I emailed them a few hours ago about the possibility of a GOG release. Here's contact info:

Sounds great :)

I loved Banjo-Kazooie, and a proper open world 3D platformer in the same vein would be great!
Didn't I hear about this a decade or so ago?
I remember reading something about former devs wanting to make another Banjo-like game a long time ago.
Still, I hope it turns out halfway decent or better because there aren't too many good games like that anymore.
Never got to play Banjo-Kazooie but I really enjoyed 3D platformers back in the day, especially the Crash Bandicoot series. The new game sure looks cool with potentially quite charming characters and this has got to be one of the fastest funded kickstarter campaigns I have seen recently. The project is raking in money at an exponential rate and the counter just keeps moving up in real time.

Unfortunately they seem to be heavily touting Steam on their kickstarter page so not sure if they would be interested in releasing it DRM Free but people can certainly ask about it. There is a retail version as well and I wonder if that is going to require Steam or will it run independently.

Holy cow the money's just keep going up! Hope it will get a GoG relies.
They're vocally against F2P/microtransactions and in-game ads, so maybe they can be persuaded of the virtue of DRM-freedom too. No better time than when they're on Kickstarter.

RARE were amazing back during the SNES and N64 days. A new game along the lines of Banjo & Kazooie or Conker's Bad Fur Day could be really fun. If it turns out anything like those classics, I'd most likely buy a copy. ( If it comes to GOG, DRM-free, that is. )
Steam only?

ShadowWulfe: Steam only?
Ask them.
Banjo-Kazooie was my favourite game on the N64, so I'm pretty darn excited about this.
Not sure if I'll back the project or not, but looking forward to it none the less.
With that phonetic spelling it will probably be banned in Hawaii
Kickstarter seems to be the birthplace of a lot of spiritual successors. While Banjo-Kazooie was easily my favourite game on the N64, this looks almost too similar. Although as long as the humour is intact, I'm sure it will be worth playing.
The Kickstarter for this game must have broken a few records already.
Shows people remember names, not just companies.
Microsoft bought Rare years ago just to run the company into the ground but the same can't be said about those who made Rare great.

To be fair though, they do namedrop their older games every few words... I wouldn't be so sure they got $1.1M because people remember the names of Jens Restmeier and Mark Stevenson, but more likely because they remember the games with Donkey Kong and Banjo-Kazooie.
