It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

timppu: What problems specifically? Shutdown hanging?
Yep, had to force it.

Updated and restarted and it worked. No clue why I could restart but not shut down.

Ok so your problem was a bit different if only shutdown didn't work, but restart worked. For me they both hang the machine.

Any idea what got updated when the problem went away? Not sure if it could be that my XFCE version of Mint is getting some updates later so I am still waiting (usually when a new Mint is released, at first it is only Cinnamon and MATE, and later the XFCE version comes).
For me, it would be Ubuntu Mate. Super stable and the DE just gets out of the way of gaming.

Yesterday seems to have been a fluke as today it hung again when I tried shutting down the laptop :-(

Right now no problems on Manjaro with xfce.

I've been using Manjaro Xfce for two years now, and it is excellent. Sleek, efficient, updated packages and problem-free. Arch-users will slutshame you though.

Fedora users will shrug and accept that your ways are different yet not entirely dissimilar.

It's just that I'm using IceWM today.

Don’t take it personally, Archers tend to do that to everyone ;)
On Linux Mint Cinamon all goes well!
No worries in five years, since I used it!
I’m sorry I can’t help you.

Some update either yesterday or today fixed the Linux Mint 19.3 XFCE shutdown/reboot problems for me. Yay!
Manjaro is the best or Solus.

Manjaro - XFCE
Manjaro KDE (used 2 years 2015-2017)
Didn’t leave me a good memory.
I really wanted to believe in this distribution, I also considered buying them a PC!
With each update you have to be afraid, I had to install it from scratch several times to repair the system.
And I’m not talking about catastrophic translations!
But changed the wallpaper, which removes the file manager.

For Bugs that are reported for 4 years and still without correction!
Manjaro answered officially: If you do not like go elsewhere!
That’s what I did!

I also helped a passage on Manjaro, which ended with a comeback on Windows!
A rather motivated computer science student, from 2016 to 2018 in XFCE!
I guess there aren’t enough people at Manjaro’s.

For those who use it it is good and it remains Linux, it has advantages!
For those who like tinkering, it’s a good school.
Personally I do not want to become a computer scientist, and no shame in saying it !
Today, I do not recommend it.
Manjaro is not for everyone!
