BananaJane: They don't show up in the list of games I'm able to add, and if I add the shortcut on the desktop, it just adds dosbox.
It's like this with every compilation game

SirPrimalform: This thread already contains the answer... It's weird that you posted here without reading this thread.

Ok, what you do is add your games shortcut to steam, then right click on it in your library and click properties. Then right click on your desktop shortcut for the game and copy the "target" and "start in" sections into the respective sections in the steam shortcut.
That wasn't what I asked, but I figured it out.

I'm in the process of adding all of my GOG games to Steam, but it's not for the overlay or the social stuff but rather Steam's big picture mode, which I've found makes launching games on my TV much easier. This topic has helped a bunch, but I've run into a problem with Mean Streets, the first Tex Murphy game. The shortcut GOG provides works fine, but when I copy the command line to the Steam shortcut it crashes. I noticed that it has an extra line that other dos games don't have:

"Z:\Programs\Games\Tex Murphy 1 and 2\DOSBOX\DOSBox.exe" -conf ..\Mean Streets\dosboxTex1.conf -conf ..\Mean Streets\dosboxTex1_single.conf -noconsole -c exit

I've already removed the quotes from the extra commands, and I tried removing the "exit". When I booted the program up, it was just the normal dosbox prompt. That makes me think that somehow it's not recognizing one of the .conf files, and maybe the "crashing" is simply the "exit" command working. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks!

you might want to have quotes around the
..\Mean Streets\dosboxTex1.conf and the other one

This worked! It ended up just copying the exact path from the desktop shortcut worked (which has quotes). I must have messed up the copying when I tried that before.

One thing to note: If you're like me, and you add a bunch of games at once, keep in mind that when you add a bunch of games all using the same EXE (like the might and magic or tex murphy packs) even if you correctly get the different command lines done, they will all seem to play the first game you set up. Be sure to restart steam and they should work fine.

Great work, Sir. Thanks!
Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I had a question. Most of my GOG games are going over onto Steam fine, but when I try the Zork Anthology, it won't work. When I try to add the shortcut, it just shows up as a folder and won't add to the steam library. The shortcut works outside of steam though.

Any ideas?
