Hi everyone, I make this post just to give a little bump to those games that don't have a great budget, but are made with love and passion, games that often go unnoticed because they can't paid a publicity campaign, yet they deserve your money more than any Call of Duty or Battlefield game! Here is my list, just games that I have played, I would love to read your recommendations too, feel free to add it in the comments :D
1- Original War: Strategy game with RPG elements. Set in a world where some scientist discover and artefact to travel back in time, but once they done discover that are not alone. You will be able to play two extensive campaigns (Americans and Russians) with the possibility to download the Arabian Campaign from the official page (https://original-war.net/files.php?c=15). Is very unique in a lot of ways, the story is very well written, every decision affects the game in a significant way, every character is very important, you have to level them up and when they die, that character is gone for good, is really long and have multiplayer. Really is a toon of content and now it's on sale with an 81% discount. Very recommended game that is a steal at this price, IMO this game should be consider a classic from the size of games like Age of Empire or Starcraft. Go play it and thank me later!
2- The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa: I purchased this game for the nice looking pixel art graphics, but I stay for the existential drama, the life simulator, the yakuza style gameplay, a great story, a great character, the friendship, the fun beat em up gameplay and the nice looking pixel art graphics. This was actually the game that make me consider this to make this thread, a game that surprise you and give you much more than you expected, a game that goes unnoticed but deserve every cent you could give to the devs, cause you now they would make something great with that money and not another Microtransaction and NFTs $60 shit. A game that could take you 20 hours to comple so even at full price worth it and even more with this 60% discount! Give it a try, please!
3- Xenonauts: basically it's the X-COM: UFO Defense from the 21th Century, with refined mechanics and nice looking graphics. Has a surprising amount of depth, you have to administrate your base, choose what to research first, enhance your soldiers, intercept UFOs, and other classic X-COM. I think this is the best adaptation of the series, even better than the XCOM of Firaxis, that game has an incredible graphics and a really nice gameplay, don't misunderstand me, it's a great game on it's own but lost many from the strategy aspect pf the classic series in pro of being more accessible fpr new generations. Xenonauts on the other hand make some enhancements but keep this hardcore aspect to keep it interesting for the veterans and the beginners. Great strategy game, currently 75% off!
4- Lost Horizon: Sometimes I just close my eyes and pretend this is the Indiana Jones sequel we never have, nor in the cinema or in the games. This game make you feel like you are part of a great adventure, with a well told story, amazingly interesting and charismatic characters, traveling through different locations, solving puzzles and saving the day with your intellect. It's 80% off so you have no excuses to skip this game, even if your not a fan of point n click games I'm sure this is going to like you!
5- The Journey Down Trilogy: What can I say about this game? I mean, it's just the best point n click game ever made since Grim Fandango! Bwana and Kito are some of the best characters you can find in any adventure game, and one of the chillest characters in any game, always getting in trouble that will put a smile on you face. The story is well developed, just a little bit rushed at the end, yet it solves all the questions and let you wanting more, the soundtrack it's so great, just listen (https://youtu.be/mZY1rpFSRhk). The graphics are great too, it wasn't my cup of tea at the when I see the game for the first time, but after play are just incredible, great art direction... Maybe with our support the team be able to give us a sequel in the future, now at 60% off, you can get a great game that will give you at least 12hs of pure fun!
6- The Dream Machine: one of a kind adventure game, where you will find a fantastic and mature argument, that will take you through oniric worlds in the minds of your neighbours, I don't try to spoil too much of this kind of games, because as you can noticed, the story of a game is really important for me, and when I like something I try to say the less possible so you can experience yourself without an external opinion. The game is currently sold with a 75% discount, which is a steal to experience this fantastic story!
7- Exiled Kingdoms: This game is a great archivement to make a game on your own, and even more make a RPG on your own. This is a fun ARPG inspired by classics like Diablo. You can roam freely through a unique world and live your own adventure. With plenty of main and side missions you will receive worth for your money!
8- TSIOQUE: This is more a puzzle adventure than a Point N' Click Adventure. With beautiful 2D art and animation, a lovely soundtrack and a great plot twist, TSIOQUE it's a fantastic example of what indie devs can do! :D
9- Forgotten Fields: This is another special game, a different and original Narrative Experience, one of those game you can slow down and enjoy the travel. Beutiful story, good looking graphics, a pacific soundtrack. It's offen on sale. Another fact, the game had some problems and wasn't updated in some months and when I contact the dev he fix it in less than 24hs a Sunday because he though it was updated, this kind of act deserves some recognition :)
10- The Way: this game looks like a spiritual successor to Another World, and it is in certain way, but at the same time it so much more. You will travel in this beautiful pixel art action adventure plataformer, side scrolling through the different and evocative environments, solving problems and progress in this great story! Go buy it, this is the way!
11- Westerado Double Barreled: a desperado kill your family, you have find the bastard and take revenge in this sandbox western detective game! This is an open ended and super funny adventure, in whitch you can solve the mystery as you want, even kill every character in the game, because if everyone is dead that means that the culprit is dead too... The end justify the means I guess. Pick your revolver, your hat and ride to the sunset cowboy E[:D
12- Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams: I just bought this game because it was crazily cheap so I couldn't skip it, than I download it and played it and found one of the best plataformers I ever play!!!! You have to go swaping world with the sisters to advance through the scenery, the mechanics are simple to lear but hard to master, and you will feel like a pro when you finish the latest levels in one go and flowing like a champion. The game is 90% off, a real steal for that price, the only way you feel well with yourself is buying the soundtrack too and maybe the standalone expansion (but that one is not on offer right now, it's not expensive either).
