tbh I was confused because I was thinking, how is this a new release, but I was mistaking it for Tesla vs Lovecraft

The number of games based on him and his groundbreaking research in sleep medicine is astounding. Suffice it to mention major hits such as:
- The Witcher series
- The Elder Scrolls series
- The Settlers series
- The Longest Journey
- The 7th Guest
and many more.

P.S. If you're interested in learning more about Dr. The and his sleep research, I recommend a game called "Among The Sleep" (https://www.gog.com/game/among_the_sleep), which is essentially a documentary about his early life and how he came to be so interested in sleep. The title of the game is quite clever, as in addition to mentioning his name and his field of research, it also hints that his family originated from northern Vietnam/Laos/Thailand, the ancestral home of the Hmong people. True to its subject matter, the game is highly sleep inducing.

It's almost guaranteed I'll buy this when it releases. I've loved their previous games, especially Tesla v Lovecraft. They mentioned it on the Facebook page, and the reactions weren't quite positive. :(

Im not saying that people should stop with the H.P. Lovecraft based video games. When the games are viewed on their own, its a cool setting. Lovecraft just doesn't translate well into video games, though. Or movies. Or anything other than writing, really. It stops being anything like Lovecraft, and becomes something else entirely.

It's funny how Tesla irl always depicted as a sweet guy with introverted tendencies who got shafted big time by that asshole Edison and ended living in poverty and befriending a bird near his death but in games he's an asskicking inventor killing monsters. David Bowie even play as him in the movie version and depicted as crazy scientist (fuck you holywood you piece of shit asshole I'm glad Corona lockdown destroyed your industry).

Can we have a point and click adventure game that depict Tesla in his more natural self? He deserves that recognition.

10tons sure do know how to craft an addictive game. Back in the day, Crimsonland ate my life for a good while; and in recent times Tesla vs Lovecraft did much the same. I'm not going to go near this one because I know what will happen -- but I bet it's going to be pretty awesome :)

This game did a great job translating Lovecraft-Cthulhu setting into the game.
It's just that most developers can't do it well, just like most book authors can't replicate the Lovecraft atmosphere.

Or this game, for example, reproduces the atmosphere well, although it is closer to Edgar Poe than to Lovecraft, but nevertheless.

I suppose it's all about the GUNS. When shooting begins to solve problems in a game, the H.P. Lovecraft / R.E.Howard atmosphere is immediately lost. In their books, shooting did not solve the problem, creating an atmosphere of powerlessness in front of face of the unknown.
