Singing in the train, just singing in the train...

Bounty Train, a railroad simulation/management game set in the Old West, is now available for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 40% launch discount.

The Native Americans used to call it "the steel horse", if Lucky Luke comic books are to be believed. Its thunderous roar heralded a new era of industrial revolution, as it came galloping across the American countryside, transforming the land and its people forever.
In Bounty Train you get to design, control, and manage your own steam-powered beasts, man them with the right people, then travel the land of the Old West in search of entrepreneurial opportunities and adventure. Real historical events, bandit attacks, daring inventions, and your personal brand of handling business will change the course of 19th century North America, as well as your own story. A much larger variety of content, technical fixes, improved visuals and expanded gameplay features are being implemented by Corbie Games ahead of the game's final release, which, according to the conductor, is scheduled for arrival sometime in 2016.

Tame the Wild West atop your very own Bounty Train, DRM-free on GOG.com. For some additional training you can upgrade to Trainium Edition and get access to upcoming goodies: the digital artbook, the soundtrack, two special items, and the first DLC.
The 40% launch discount will last until August 18, 12:59 PM UTC.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

As many have said before me. Looks like it could be a cool, interesting and fun game but looks overpriced particularly when DLC is already being promised. Also, like others, although I'm tempted I will not break my rule about not paying for games in development unless I'm absolutely confident that they will meet my expectations. Wishlisted for now.
Looks interesting

mistermumbles: "Discover the Old West", which is followed by gameplay footage of the East Coast. Hmmm.

I did see some mention of this elsewhere a couple of months ago. Definitely looks interesting.
"Discover the Old West, for very broad definitions of what 'West' means." :-)
low rated
Looks like a kid made this in mspaint.

Looks like bad performance and the game is loud

Sorry, but it looks better than what you can do in mspaint.
Looks like a modernised Transarctica/Arctic Barons. Assuming it doesn't end up in early access limbo, it could end up being a decent game.

Not even considering buying it until then, though.
Looks fantastic.

Instabuy :)
Looks interesting from the promo video. Will keep an eye on this one.
Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out... railroads, old west, guns = could be fun..

The more I look at this the more excited I get for its potential!

Why isn't there just a "Trainium Edition" to get / can only upgrade?

Will the upgrade be available once the game is released?
launch discount, went pretty quick. Im not sure if i can fork out full price on this game, i own it already on steam, bit of a bugger

Swapware1: launch discount, went pretty quick...
Ooof, yeah, somehow I missed the date and didn't realize, that is a huge bummer, though I don't think I'd gotten it anyway, hopefully sometime "down the line!"

Wolfram_von_Thal: Wow, still early access and already a dlc... and the regular version will be around thirty bucks? That's a very self-confident pricing from the developers. The concept is different and quite original though.

madeaj: That irritates me. The game isn't finished and they are already saying "Hmm, don't put that in the main game, we'll make that a paid extra." I know this is probably normal, but I would prefer if they would at least make believe they came up with the DLC content after the game was complete. This game is wishlisted for now. I won't break my rule about in dev games.

I agree! I wrote this concern on their forum page and got this response:

""""""Anyone else find it strange that this game is in development, and already there is an upgrade edition? While that is well and good, with the digital book, the sound track and such, if people want it, it also includes a DLC download.

I would have felt better about the upgrade edition without the DLC, because that just seems wrong to have DLC for a game that isn't even finished being built. I guess my mind considers DLC as extra content for a game, not a beta development."""""""
.
.
Glad to know you enjoy our game! It will be interesting to get a feedback to see strong and week sides of the game.

As for DLC, let me explain. This DLC is just the way to upgrade the game to the Trainium Edition. It's not a DLC in its usual meaning. Don't worry - we will concentrate at DLC with new content ONLY after we finish our game and release it.

I also must add this:
.
I've played the game now for about an hour, and I have to admit, I really like it. There are a few things I think would add/change to make it easier to play, right off the bat, that I see. Maybe I'll suggest them and maybe they will get put in at some point. That part (being a part of the development in any compacity) is kind of exciting too. But the game so far, is FUN!

Thank you. I watched Gogstream and Darksaber2k explained the same thing. I really enjoy what I've seen so far. It is definitely on my wishlist and I'll be keeping an eye on development and looking forward to it being finished.
