My OCPD cries in delight at this wonderful news! :D Finally, a place for every thing and every thing in its place, each game installing to its own folder instead of having to be all bunched up together and yearning fruitlessly to breathe free!

opticq: Awesome, quick question, can we toggle this or is it fixed?
This is exactly what I wanted to ask.
This is great, well done GOG! ^_^

I like them grouped. I wish Cognition was grouped together. Doesn't sound like we can toggle it - it's unbundling whether you want it or not. It's not a huge deal, but it's going to create some real confusion.

Might & Magic I-VI are now going to be six entries on my shelf?

Hopefully we won't get 10 entries for Sword of the Stars :P

Seven entries. The pack also includes Swords of Xeen which is an additional game.
I prefer standalone games more than big collection packs, so I'm fine with this change.
However, GOTY-like editions with all the updated expansions and patches should really stay together.

(btw, I expect a lot of mess on the shelf for a while lol)

I'm also thinking that there are games with bonus installers. Like Crimsonland, which has Crimsonland Classic as a bonus. Or Papers Please, which has one or two small bonus games.
Mmmh, I have mixed feelings about this.

As upside it's perfect for my backups, as I prefer to create for every game a folder and put only relevant files for this game in it (mods, manuals, reference cards, guides, etc).

The downside of unbundlung depends on if and how GOG will change the account library. With many games owned here it's still kind of a mess, getting now more items on the shelf it's getting harder (especially with the broken search and update function). Also it's very likely that the change will cost disc space.

Btw, one wish from my side: As the update function is still broken, please release the list of updated games here in the forum.

I appreciate this change. Nicely done, GOG.

Will this mean we can finally download the classic trilogy from The Bard's Tale without the new one, or is that a special case?
I'm not complaining. I've felt before that something like this would be nice, if only so I could put the Ultima series in order of publication, which is tough to do with the 3-packs.

Special case, I think because the classic Bard's Tale games have to be accessed through the new one. They're essentially part of the 2004 game. It's a real pain in the ass. I'd love to see them on their own, though!

I hope the unbundling won't mess up the manual sorting of my collection. It got messed up just about two months ago and with more than 550 titles, it took me hours to sort it again.
Might I recommend making this post a sticky?
Mixed feelings too. Might be a good idea for some games, but having Grimm split into 23 episodes might be a nightmare. It would be good if you make it optional for all games.
