mystikmind2000: If you don't need a car or too much public transport, its pretty good.

Kleetus: Not sure how old you are, and perhaps I'm a bit nostalgic, but Sydney used to be awesome many years ago.

Now there's just too many people, too many cars, flats everywhere, and absurdly expensive real estate.

I think the median house price is about a million, ridiculous.
The reason house prices are so expensive in Sydney is because we live in such a geographically small country with too many people per square kilometer. Not like England for example, which is a huge Island with plenty of space and less population.

Imagine if my above comments were actually completely wrong? Imagine if Australia was actually a huge sparsely populated country, then imagine the required level of government incompetence and lack of foresight required to overcome that and have housing as expensive as it is now?
avatar
Kleetus: Is that because you're a wandering fruit, always wandering from place to place?
That, and that because of fucking August finding a free place to spend a night is quite a chore.

Kleetus: That's not the reason, and London has also expensive real estate.
Perhaps my sarcasm was too subtle and went over your head?

Kleetus: I thought of that at first, but when you said "geographically small country", I assumed you meant that most people lived on the eastern seaboard.
Yea, I should have intensified my sarcasm that Australia is a really really tiny country even smaller than England..... because the price of real estate in Sydney is certainly a topic worthy of the most vicious and potent sarcasm possible.

Governments in Australia have had plenty of time to figure out that although this is a vast and spacious country, you still need a little foresight and planning to ensure everyone is not trying to cram into the city because its the only place you can get work...... the issue has just been totally ignored by successive governments over time.

I like both (the short) summer and proper winter with snow.

It is the time between them that I hate, that +1 - +10 C degrees months raining, gray clouds etc. Unfortunately, sometimes even the winters (from e.g. Dec => March) here are like that, not cold enough for snow to stay on ground. I hate "warm" winters like that, if I wanted that I could always move to Britain or something.

Damn climate change! Stop breathing, you are exhaling carbon dioxide to the air, messing up my winters!

Tauto: What a load of shit!
How about things like......Massive Wages........Cost of living........Pure Greed.......High taxes.......Retirement Pensions for the Government........Government Expenses and FREE Trips All Around the World........Retire with Massive Payout and free flights,Do I need to keep going on?..........And all this from the Government.
And stuff the worker's with bullshit and beans.
Huh, your looking at the problems in the 'now'. that is the mistake everyone makes, everything is now now now, what is happening now, how do we knee jerk solve it now? Well guess what? Its all the product of lack of foresight both with voters and government. What goes wrong today has its roots (and the missed opportunities to solve them) going back many years.

Lack of foresight is everything that is wrong with western society, mark my words!

You're absolutely right. From the politicians who are just worried about the next election to the voters that are looking for the next government freebie, hardly anyone is planing for the future.

Exactly
Personally, I would like it to get a little cooler. (Having air conditioning definitely helps, however.)

Also, I notice that a certain user has copied the rather hateful avatar that another user used, and that my "new" avatar is a response to. (I mentioned this in another thread, but that thread seems to have been deleted, so I didn't get to see the reply that someone made.)
I actually like August quite a bit. I didn't ship him with Sasha obviously, but he was still on my endgame team.
... wait, that's not what you're talking about...?
Quasi-permanent strong winds have saved august from my wrath.
On the contrary, I enjoy August(and summer in general), because I like warm weather. Besides, there are holidays in in August in my country, so I have plenty of time to play games :D
avatar
Fillary: I have nothing against August. I had a marvelous vacations in Manila two weeks ago. I booked flight tickets on http://lowcost.club/ ahead and made a vacation plan. I created a list of must see places. If you had bad August it does not mean that your summer was boring or bad.
