Sorry to see you go. You've been a positive influence and voice. Take care, and hopefully we'll see you around. Don't be a stranger.
It has always been great seeing you around. Cheers in hoping to see you again in the future. Thank you for making GOG forum a better place for us all.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Quote aside, as said before, sad to see you go, but hopefully, those 10-20 hours can now be freed up to spend it gaming!
Have a wonderful time doing whatever it is you'll be doing away from the forums, and pop in now and again, even if it's just to lurk. Forum conditions can go up as well as down.

Konrad: You mean patch notes for game updates? You can find changelogs (whenever they're available to us that is) on each product card in your library...
Aren't they still limited to a certain amount of characters?

What a sad day for the GOG community... Thanks for all your hard work mrkgnao. I'll especially miss all the daily updates about important changes that might otherwise go unnoticed and unannounced...

X-com: I understand this but it may annoy some ppl. What happens once the announcement disappears from the 1st page of the forum, we'll just be stuck with the January 7th update in the changelog for Defender's Quest, it's not obvious to everyone to check the announcement threads.
I should have clarified from the beginning that I didn't mean that as an acceptable replacement to adding the actual changelogs, just pointed out GOG's practice.
Flagging a game as updated while making the changelog a news post, and omitting it from people's accounts, just demonstrates how inadequately GOG's handling of updates is. More so since the news on the front page only go back to a certain point in time, thus can rather easily be missed.

PaterAlf: And let's not forget that CDPR's games are among the worst examples of regional pricing. Even the ones that you can't buy as retail version (e.g. The Witcher Adventure Game).
This is unfortunately only too true, proving that "adamantly try for flat pricing" to be an empty promise.
I just want to echo the sentiments that others have already posted in this thread. Your forum posts were always polite, insightful, and added much to the Gog community. Moreover your generosity -- whether it was in give-aways, or in maintaining MaGog -- has definitely left a lasting impact here. I'm sad to see you go, but I certainly wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

I'm thinking of using some of these hours to develop my own game. Not immediately, but at some point down the line.

Will there be a DRM-free version available on GOG? :P

Considering the fact that I estimate it will take me 5-10 years to develop the game (given that I have zero experience in any of the necessary disciplines, except programming, and I still dream of doing it all by myself), the more pertinent question would be "Will there be a GOG?".

LOL - good point. And one that made me chuckle out loud.
Like many others I'm sad to see you go. I would have liked to, but cannot find a way to counter your observations. GOG's growth comes together with a shift from "community member" experience, to "Customer" experience. Wish you the best ;-)
Sad to see you go. You were a great mod to gog.com. Too bad you're not compatible with the latest patches.
Thanks for everything you did and hopefully you stick around 1 way or another.

Can't say I disagree with your observations. Recent changes seem to be aimed mostly at growth through new customers/members.
From a business point of view I understand that. Though I was always tought you should keep your existing customers satisfied as you already got those.
Several community based features are in dire need of fixes, yet it seems they have no priority.

I want to hear more about this, if you're willing to share.

Hmm... if yes, probably not as we know it.
This is not good ;(
Wish you the best of luck in whatever new endeavor you hop on and many thanks for your continuous support of gog's community!
Cheers
Sad to see you go :(

Thanks for your effort to make a better community.

I wish you the best and hope you come back soon.

Farewell :(
